Study On The Scale In Landscape Architecture

Scale plays an important role in landscape design, not only the special distribution of a landscape architecture but also the single unit in garden scenery, even the details in landscape architecture design, depends on a reasonable scale design. China's landscape-scale studies are still lagged behind other countries, as the content of the study is not perfect, and a systematic comprehensive theoretical system has not been established. With the gradual development of landscape design, the scale of landscape architecture study is becoming more and more practical significant. By collecting relevant information such as on-site photographs, field sketches records, network search, using the method of combining theory and practice, from multiple angles and aspects of garden scale, an in-depth systematic study is made by analyzing the relevant disciplines and theory of landscape scale in detail. The dissertation is divided into three parts:The first part is a question stage:from the current status and problems of landscape architecture scale, the importance of landscape-scale study is pointed out. Explicit objects and methods of landscape-scale study.The second part is the stage of the specific analysis of the problem:the definition of the concept of landscape architecture scale, analysis of its source of generation, the distinction of scale-related concepts such as size, proportion. Multidisciplinary research on landscape architecture scale provides a multi-dimensional point of view to re-examine it, as the study on related disciplines like ergonomics, environmental psychology, visual sensation and aesthetic, provides new insights in this landscape architecture scale research.As Garden space is an important part of the landscape design, different scales of it are in line with the needs of different places. The size of landscape scale also reflects culture differences, which reflects the social hierarchy and the concept of thinking. The ultimate goal of landscape design is to serve people, human centered landscape-design is discussed in detail from the different levels and the idea of 'people-oriented' is fully reflected in garden-scale design, which is in accordance with the inevitable trend of development of landscape design.There is a variety of landscape elements, and the scales for each are different. This article elaborates on the characteristics of scales of the main landscape elements; by in-depth study of the scales of elements, sums up the physical and psychological scales in line with people's needs. The result of the research in this part of dissertation provides a more comprehensive data reference for the later landscape designer in landscape architecture scale design, which bears great practical significance.The third part is the problem solving stage:at the end of the paper, the principle and method in landscape scale and the referable rules of aesthetics design are discussed. The target is to find the common law through a variety of studies on garden-scale, and to make a theoretical guidance of the scale design, landscape architecture scale theory will eventually be expressed in a certain way, so this paper comes up with 2D drawings, 3D model, computer animation and some other ways to express scale design, and by these expressions ultimately the scale design is accurately materialized in the concrete world.
