With the rapid social development and growth for the quality of life, tourism and related activities are gradually warmed in China, and scenic spots become the first choice for leisure and entertainment. However, the natural resources have got a lot of damage by recurrent overloading operations in scenic spots. Faced with the dilemma between economic benefit and ecological benefit, the sustainable development of scenic spots got into trouble. The vegetative landscape, one of the essential natural resources in scenic spots, performs a vital role in landscaped value or ecological value. Therefore, the vegetative landscaping is of paramount importance for scenic spots.To currently research toward academic study and qualitative analysis, this article tried to obtain representation in general of vegetative landscape through some case studies and quantitative analysis, and explore characteristics of vegetative landscape, which could be used for other cases. The research, which is based on literature searches and practical explorations, took and analysed 20 of vegetative landscapes from the West Lake in HangZhou. According to the topographical feature and Spatial Attribute, the vegetative landscapes are divided into 11 water space and 9 land space. Also, every space is classified, analysed and evaluated, and recorded the feature by vegetative factors and spatial factors. The following results are analysed by kinds of plants, tallness, coverage, frequency of occurrence, and space. 1. With the situation of globular shape, the varieties of plants are not mainly determined by area. In the case of plant Landscape in Construction, in order to visual effects of imagining the big from the small,less space would not reduce application of various plants. Instead of decrease, less space would raise luxuriant vegetative landscapes by degradable size and wonderful arrangement. As the example, space of globular shape is occupied 55 percent of the space by 5 to 7 kinds of plant societies. The data is an reasonable reference. The function, which can attract and lead line of sight, is realized space of globular shape by the mean of increasing vegetation variety. The vegetation landscape, several kinds of plants, which is fitted the space of striation or surface, could easily come into an unitive feature. This landscape expresses the sequence changing and beautiful plant population.2. The average height between 0~1.5 m and 1.5~5.9 m are most frequently used in vegetative landscapes because these heights include the best way for enjoying landscape. Although the other heights are not used as frequently as two segments are, they are effective for expanding the vertical hierarchies. That the plants under 6m are attentive to be grown, and the arbors above 6 m should be chosen as an encircled space, could increase High-rise trees of vertical hierarchies.3. Medium level plants are the key component as enclosure of vegetative landscape's globular shape because they are suitable for vision, visibility, and enjoying view. The spaces of planar and linear plants basically show that integral impression, which have large capacity and height, can improve the effects of depth. The higher plants are the principal way to enclosure. To decrease visual fatigue from mono-model of vegetative landscapes, space of globular shape could add medium and small plants to enhance the stratification of landscape.
