Theoretical Research, The Evolution Of Urban Regional System

City is the carrier of economic activities. Knowledge-economics and international economic initialization cause the development of urban regionalization and region urbanization. The research of urban region system evolvement bases on the theories as following, Regional Economic Geography, Theory of System, Economics and Urban Planning. It starts from differentiating and analyzing the connotation of urban region, growth condition and combination of urban type and its function scope, growth process of urban region is divided into eight type. The author elaborates the principle of spatial function of urban region system from four lays of internal and between urban regions, between cities and urban region net, put forward firstly the principle of being abided by energy level of interacting, well-matched in status, seized and combined with. Basing on the structure and character analysis of urban region system, the author conclude that urban region system demonstrates the structure of semi-network, and build a way to divide urban region system into basic unit combining of qualification and quantity. Hence divides space of Chinese urban region system into two kinds and seven types. The author indicates that urban region is the sum of cities within the region and connection of regions. Urban and its surrounding areas form the basic unit of region, urban region space system forms by merge, evolvement and development, which is called as urban region system.The second chapter indicates that function form and fintensity of conditions and factors to urban region system, and its effect of space-time demonstrate diversified. Ideas and outlook on value of urban development run through the whole process of urban region evolvement. Natural condition, economic factors and transportation are the functional factors of building space frame of urban region system. Information and technology, high technology, social culture and urban region system influence each other. The third chapter anatomy stage of social development and unction scope of urban region at different levels, divide the evolvement of urban region into eight types, agriculture urban, industrial urban, agriculture city, industrial city, national industrial city, national service city, international industrial city, and international service city; discuss regional spatial characters of agriculture-city, industrial city and service city, and research urban region types in China.The fourth chapter constructs four levels of interaction between urban region systems, explains its function mechanism and principles level by level, and bring forward the four principles abided by interaction between cities.The fifth chapter indicates the structure of urban region system demonstrates semi-network, on the base of its measurement, the author put forward the way of division of urban region system unit and uniting region system by quantification analysis and charting. From the reality of Chinese cities, the paper divides it into seven kinds of urban region: Great city belt, metropolis, city town, constellation city, core-periphery city, line-shape city and isolated-island city.The sixth chapter analyzes function and problems of urban regionalization and region urbanization to urban region system, put forward countermeasures to control development of urban region system.
