Research on infrared characteristics of satellite has valuable applications in spacetechnique, communications and navigates, remote sensor. This paper aims at research oninfrared characteristics of satellite, research on infrared scene of space background, andfurthermore research on contrasts between object and background. The main work of thispaper includes:1. Research on infrared characteristics of satelliteBy considering the influences of heat flux of space orbit, self-irradiation of satellite'ssurface and heat load, the temperature model of satellite was developed. The complicatedradiative boundary conditions were solved by Monte-Carlo, and the temperature of satellitewas computed by finite volume method. The infrared characteristics of satellite wereaffected by the temperature. Based on the temperature model of satellite, the temperaturesensitivity model was developed, and the influences of correlative parameters on thetemperature of satellite were analyzed quantificationally. The intrinsic relation betweensystem sensitivity theory and system error statistical theory was analyzed by Taylor theoryand numerical computation. By taking into account of heat flux of space orbit andself-radiation of satellite's surface, the infrared radiance model was developed, and thedistribution of infrared radiance was obtained.2. Research on apparent spectrum absorption characteristics of thermal controlcoatingsBased on ray tracing method, RTM-DRE was developed, which was applied to studyradiative transfer in absorbing-scattering semitransparent medium. With the establishmentof the equivalent medium model, RTM-DRE was applied to study radiative transfer intransparent medium with scattering particles. By taking into account of absorption andscatter of particles, absorption of binder and reflection of interface, the apparent spectrumabsorption model of thermal control coatings was developed by RTM-DRE combined withMie's theory. Validity, computational error and time of the model were validated andanalyzed. Furthermore, the apparent spectrum absorption characteristics of thermal controlcoatings were studied, and the influences of optical characteristics of binder and particles, volume fraction of particles, particles diameter, characteristics of interface, and incidentangle of irradiance were analyzed. The influences of space environment on apparentspectrum absorption characteristics of thermal control coatings were primarily analyzed, and the influences on the temperature of satellite were quantificationally analyzed by system sensitivity theory.3. Research on infrared scene of space backgroundResearch on infrared scene of space background includes research on infrared sceneof the earth background and the stars. The geometry and vegetation scene were establishedby global digital elevation data and global land cover data. By considering the influencesof solar irradiance, atmospheric irradiance, self-irradiance of surface, apparent and latentheat exchange between surface and background, and the influences of atmospherictransmission effect on radiative transfer, the temperature model of each surface elementwas developed, and then the radiance model was developed. The infrared scene images ofthe earth background were generated. Using low-resolution infrared star datasheet, theinfrared scene images of stars were generated by correction of precession, a series oftransformation of coordinates and transformations of view in OpenGL. Based on theresearch on the infrared characteristics of target and background, the synthesizing imageswere generated, and the contrasts of the infrared characteristics were analyzed.
