Species composition of marine-fish cestodes in Tai~van Strait ~vere investigated during 1997 and 2000. Studies on the dynamics of two species of cestode (Pseudophyllidea) and the infective status of the marine-fish cestodes of Taiwan Strait were conducted. 17 species of marine-fish parasitic tapeworms were collected and described, which belong to thirteen genus, eight families, four order. Among of which, four are new species, and seven are new genus in China. In total, 64 species of fish were sampled, of which 9.4%(6) were infected with cestodes, Dasyatis akajei D. :ugei and Psenopsis anoma/a can be infected with hvo or more species of cestodes, Dasyatzs akajei can even have nine. The mean infective intensity of the cestodes were over 2.0, the highest specie is Rhinebothrium ximenensis, the lowest is Echinopha/lus japonicus. The investigation shows that the seasonal fluctuation of infective rate of the two cestodes is similar, but there is difference on their infective intensity Early developmental stages of Echinophallusjaponicus and Paruboihriocephalus grad/is (Pseudophyllidea) were observed in labortary, the morphological feature of egg~ Coracidium and procereoid were described. The result indicate that embryogeny of the eggs take place outside of uterine, Coracidiuni is free-swimming, the first intermediate host is Cyclops; there are differences on the developmental time and structure of procercoid between the two cestodes. Additionally, ultrastructures of three species of cestodes( Pseudophvllidea ) from the same host ~vere compared. There are significant differences on morphology of holdfast and the tegument of adults.
