OBJECTIVE:TO investigate the effects on the neuraI cells in cerebral cortex andhippocampal region of female ovariotomy rats taken Chinese drugs with functiontonifying the kidl1ey and the distribution of TCM symptoms amongperimenopausal women.METHODS: l5~18 month old SD female ovariotomy rats were made and dividedinto different modelsfl,placebo group;2,westem drug group,3,LongFengBaocapsule group;4,ZiGui caPsu1e group in lower dosage;5.ZiGui capsule group inmoderate dosage;6,ZiGui caPsule group in higher dosage.through observed andstudied the changes in pathological structure of neural cells in cerebraI cortex andhippocampal CA3 among compared different models;and measured respecively thelevel of serum estrogen,progesterone,fOl1icle stimulating hormone,luteinzinghormone,testosterone in perimenopausal women.before-after trial.Researched andanalysed the effect on rats'neural cells in cetebral cortex and hippocampi betweenZiGui caPsule group and LongFeng Bao caPsu1e grouP.From the experimentsmentioned above we can understand the infiuence on perimenopasua1 neuro-endocrine axis with tonifying the kidney's Chinese herbs.RESULTS:ZiGui capsule.LongFengBao caPsule could protect the function ofcerebral cortex and hippocampal region.increase the quantity of Nissl bodypositively to different degree.CONCLUSION:The Chinese herbs of tonifying the kidney could protect effectivelythe function of rats'cerebral cortex.neuron and other tissue relatively.Each of thet]'eatment g1'oups (FuFuChun capsule group.LongFengBao capsule group.ZigGuicapsule grotlp)col11pared u.ith placebo group.there were a significant difference(p<0.05);ZiGLli capsule group in moderate dosage compared xvith FuFu chuncapsule group and LollgFengBao capsule group,there 'vere l1ot a signitlcal1tdifference (p>0.05),but ZiGui capsule's effect on rdgulating neuro-endocrine weremore better than other two groups.ZiGui capsule group in higher dosage comparedwith placebo group,there were a obviously significant dil1brence(p<0.0l)-butcompared with LongFengBao capsule and FuFuChun capsule,there were asignificant dit1brence(p<0.05).Subsidiny proved clinicallytZiGui caPsule group and LongFengBao capsule groupboth could improve l9 observed symptoms of TCM and symptoms related to kidneyand brain to different degree.Though difference between them was11't significantthrough statistic analysis (p>0.05),ZiGui capsule improved climacteric symptomsmore better than the later; Both of twe groups could regulate endocrineftlnction,ZiGui caPsule,could increase obviousIy the level of serum E2,p. anddecrease obviously the level of serum FSH,whereas LongFengBao capsule couldreduce aPparently the level of serum testosterone.viaginal laboratory test showedthat alI index scores didn't exist a significant difference before-after treatmentcompared (p>0.05).All resuIts according to animal test,c1inica1 treatment andprevious research work shotved preliminarily Cl1inese drugs with ftlnction tonifyingthe kidney could protect neural ce1ls in cerebral cortex and alleviated the climacteric=ymptoms,and these function might be en1bodied through a comprehensive effOrt ofneuro-endocrine system.
