Advanced Lung Cancer Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome

This study made a deep research into the changes of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndromes of the advanced lung cancer patients, by using retrospective and prospective study. This study tries to find out the pathogenesis and characteristics of clinical TCM syndromes of the advanced lung cancer patients, and hopes to provide important research foundations for clinical applications.The results of this study are as follows:1. In the advanced lung cancer patients, most TCM syndromes are stagnant blood syndrome, phlegm syndrome and deficiency syndrome( qi deficiency and yin deficiency).The TCM syndromes of non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer patients have not significant differences ( P>0.05 ) .2. The TCM syndromes have not significant differences between above 60 years old and under 60 years old advanced lung cancer patients,including non-small cell lung cancer patients and advanced small cell lung cancer patients ( P>0.05 ) .3. The TCM syndromes have not significant differences between male or female advanced lung cancer patients,including non-small cell lung cancer patients and advanced small cell lung cancer patients ( P>0.05 ) .4. The TCM syndromes of advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients between different KPS scale have siganificant differences ( PO.01 ) . The lower KPS scale of paitents gets ,the more and heavier excessive the syndromes and deficiency syndromes turn. The patients whose KPS<60 have heavy degree of deficiency syndromes and middle degree of excessive syndromes( P<0.01 ) . The patients whose KPS>60 have light degree of both deficiency syndromes and excessive syndromes(P<0.01) .5. The TCM syndromes have not significant discrepancy between different clinical TNM stage of both advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients and advanced small cell lung cancer patients and the ( P>0.05 ) .Conclusion:1. Phlegm, stagnant blood ,qi deficiency and yin deficiency are the main TCM syndromes of advanced lung cancer patients. Phlegm, stagnant blood and deficiency interact and get more and more heavy during the process of lung cancer's occurrence and development.Thy play important roles in TCM pathogenesis of advanced lungcancer patients.2. The TCM syndromes of advanced lung cancer patients have nothing to do with sex agent.3. The TCM syndromes of advanced lung cancer patients have nothing to do with age .4. There is a close connection between the TCM syndromes of advanced lung cancer and the quality of life of the patients. And, with the improvement of the quality of life, the patients'TCM syndromes chang,that is to say, the deficiency and excessive syndromes get less and lighter.So the examination of TCM syndromes is very important to evaluate TCM treatment effect and make QOL measuring scale of advanced lung cancer .5. The TCM syndromes of advanced lung cancer patients have nothing to do with linical TNM stage.This study deeply probes into the pathogenesis of making diagnosis and giving treatment to advanced lung cancer by Traditional Chinese Medicine. And,I hope this study would have positive affection on the TCM examination of advanced lung cancer patients.
