Patients which dead of CHF are more than 400 thousand every year.Framingham study shows: the-five-year-morbidity is about 70% ,the existstage of severe patients are less than 1 year. A investigation in 50hospitals of our nation also indicates: The proportion of the hospitalizedpatients with CHF is only 20%, but their morbidity is 40%. Thus it canbe seen, CHF is not only gravely influent patient's life and livingquality, but also bring the heavy burden of astonishing medical treatmentexpense to patient'family and the society. Precious experiences accumulated in long history of treating CHF withTCM. In recently years the treatment with TCM in CHF has gained greatprogress, but there has no TCM preparation which can be widely used inclinic and curing CHF effectively. So study and develop TCM in the fieldof CHF treatment always be a urgent matter. Xinshuaikang Oral drug preparation is made up of membranous milk vetchroot , common monkshood prepared of daughter root , Szechwan lovge hizome ,pepperweed seed and figwort , with role of supplementing Qi ,Warming ,Activating blood and Promoting diuresis ,it is coincident withbasic CHF pathology mechanism of TCM .According to the Guidelines forTreatment of CHF with Chinese Material Medical and Guidelines For New DrugClinical Trials(1993) ,we designed the clinical trials ,which wasrandomized ,double blind and controlled . Xinbao Pill was used as thecontrol drug. We undertook this study to evaluate the effects and sideeffects of Xinshuaikang Oral drug preparation treating CHF patient withSydrome of Yang-Qi deficiency and blood stagnation. 72 patients were randomly devided into two groups in xinshuaikang :48 in test group and 24 in control group . Between two groups there nosignificant difference in age, sex, illness course and severity degreebefore therapy. After 4 weeks treatment , clinical curative effect shows:there is no remarkable difference in improvement of CHFintegra(Lee) ,general integra of TCM Sydromes ,Cardiac function ,reducinguse of Digoxin , 6-minute-walk trail. In the aspect of improve the lifequality integral calculus ,the two groups have no significant difference. But in the expression of shortness of Qi with gasp and sweatingunconsciously there has significant difference, the test group has somesuperiority. And hemodynamics index(EF,E,A,E/A) .Compare with theheart-rate we can find significant effects in the test group that isXinshuaikang Oral drug preparation can cut down the patient'sincreased heart-rate,and this treatment effects can not be seen in thecontrol group. Both of the two groups can decrease the blood pressure whichcan bring benefits to patients, and has no significant difference .The twodrugs both have more efficient than before treatment , though there isno remarkable difference between two drugs .Test drug was not observedhas obvious and serious side effects . In summary, Xinshuaikang Oral drug preparation is safe and effectivefor the treatment on CHF patient with syndrome of Yang-Qi deficiency andblood stagnation.
