| Zhang Xi-chun is a famous expert of traditional Chinese medicine in modern times, who plays an important role in the modern history of TCM. In recent years, the investigation of Zhang's medicine thought has become very extensive, which involves various aspects such as research method, theory contribution, clinical treatment, medicine prescription., etc. But there are only a few researches of Zhang's academic thought of Shanghan and they are not deep enough. Instead, more investigation concentrates on the feature of his classical prescription application. Owing to the lack of research into Zhang's understanding of treatise on febrile diseases ,disease of six meridians and six meridians transmission, especially his research method and dominant ideas, as well as the lack of systematic arrangement and investigation of Zhang's classical medicine prescription method, it is difficult to make a breakthrough in this theory. Zhang Xi-chun think highly of Shanghan very much. Based on Zhongjing's academic thought, he pays much attention to the combination of China and the west and uses the methods of extending and supplementing with the unadorned and creative study style and as a result, he develops that to a great extent. This thesis summarizes Zhang's research of Shanghan Lun concluded in Yixue Zhongzhong Canxi Lu and expounds the thought of six meridians academic, the unification of cold pathogenic disease and epidemic febrile disease, the thought of Qi transformation, the treatment and differentiation of pulse and syndrome and disease, classical prescriptions medicine effect and so on. Zhang Xi-chun thinks that the essence of six meridians is channels. Six meridians mentioned in Shanghan Lun just means twelve channels, and channels of hand being belonged to channels of feet. Zhang believes that six meridians transmission is based on the internal damage and has no fixed date. Besides the normal form of six meridians transmission, he points out emphatically that the Shaoyang usually gets it's own disease by stagnated heat of gallbladder channel and external cause and Shaoyin by heat transformation of hidden pathogen, as well as the disease caused by yangming's transmission into jueyin, Zhang xi-chun divides taiyang and yangming disease respectively into the syndrome of channel and fu-viscera and three yin disease into syndrome of cold and hot while emphasizes shaoyang on its combined diseases. He thinks that taiyang include two fu-visceras: chest and urinary bladder. The syndrome of yangming fu-viscera is divided by hand and foot. Baihu Tang and Baihu jia renshen Tang are the principal prescription of syndrome of foot yangming fu-viscera. Chengqi Tang is the principal prescription of syndrome of hand yangming fu-viscera. Zhang emphasizes on the theory of three yin heat syndrome , thinking that taiyin disease belongs to dampness-heat, shaoyin disease belongs to heat transformation of hidden pathogen and jueyin belongs to epidemic febrile disease, etc. Zhang makes the greatest contribution to the six meridians disease treatment. For example,he makes complement to the treatment for shaoyang combined disease and the heat syndrome of three yin meridians. He also introduces the treatment for shaoyin heat syndrome, jueyin syndrome with cold limbs and diarrhea. By means of analysing the definition of Zhongjing's cold pathogenic diseases in accordance with "new theory of three outlines" ,Zhang concludes that Shanghan Lun while naming after treatise on cold pathogenic diseases in fact includes syndromes of exterior wind, exterior cold and heat pathogen. He points out that the treatment for epidemic febrile disease has been mentioned in Treatise on Cold Pathogenic Diseases. MaXingshigan Tang is just the preliminary prescription Zhongjing used for the epidemic febrile disease treatment. Actually, Da Qinglong Tang, Xiao Qingling Tang, Xiao Chaihu Tang, Baihu Tang, Chengqi Tang, Baitouweng Tang and huanglianejiao Tang are also applied to the epidemic febrile disease. They can be used for curing the spring warm syndrome, wind-w... |
