1. PurposeBased on the theory discussed above, duplicating the rat model with acute stage of bronchial asthma, to reveal the developing rules of pathogenesis by researching the changes of animation, lung function, lung histomorphology and cytokines of rats after the treatment with QingFeiYin plus Bai Ling capsule, in order to discuss the effects of method of tonifing lung and kidney on the period of acute episode of bronchial asthma.2. MethodsTo observe the changes of common animation, test the lung function with lung function apparatus for small anima, observe the change of lung histomorphology, determine contents of IL-4,IL-5,TNF-α and IFN- γ in serum with enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Statistics: All the data were presented in mean ± standard deviation and analyzed with SPSS statistical package(Version 11.5).3. Results3.1 Changes of common animation of rats in all groups3.1.1 Changes of weight: There was difference of weight between the normal group and other groups before provocation. Sensitization, the weight of normal rats was higher than that of rats in other groups (P<0.05) . One week and two weeks after provocation, the weight of normal rats was significantly higher than that of rats in other groups (P<0.01) , and weight of rats in Dexamethasone groups was lower han that of rats in other groups (P<0.01) .There was no statistical significance among the three groups(high dosage , middle dosage and low dosage of Bai Ling capsule) (P>0.05) .3.1.2 Symptoms of rats in all groups at the time of provocation: Normal rats were full of vigor and had prompt response, steady breath and smooth and clean fur. None of them was in tachypnea or dyspnea or wheeze. Shortly after inhalation of OVA, model rats came forth symptom of hypersensitiveness such as restlessness and scratching fur on their face; then prostrated them without movement and were in tachypnea or dyspnea (visible abdominal breathing) with slight cyanosis. Some of model rats sounded sonorous wheeze during expiratory phase, mucosal fluid flowed from their mouths and noses and breathed irregularly. After repeated provocation, fur of model rats lost luster, depressed and responsed slowly. Compared to model group, symptom of QingFeiYin group decreased, but remained tachypnea or dyspnea accompanying with slight cyanosis, some of the rats sounded sonorous wheeze during expiratory phase and breathed irregularly. Symptoms of respiratory tract above-mentioned almost improved in Dexamethasone group. Once treated with medicine, symptoms of asthenic yin causing predominant yang such as more water-taking and quick emaciation came forth. 1 week after provocation, some rats were also in tachypnea or dyspnea.
