Part One: Osteoporosis is a disease characterized by the significant lose of body bone mass, and it is easily leads to pathological bone breakdown which damage people' s living quality greatly. It was estimated that about one hundred million people are suffering from osteoporosis in the world. China is a country with most population of the aged, people over sixty accounting for 79% of the total population. As China rapidly enters into an aging society, this issue has become more and more serious. So searching for new drugs to treat osteoporosis has become a international research project. In the course of searching for new agents that are effective on enhancing osteoblast differentiation and bone formation, we established anew, simple, precise and easily manipulated screening model targeted on the bmp-2 promoter applying the technologies of genetic engineering, cell engineering. With this model a large number of natural products was screened in order to obtain the lead compounds that can promote the differentiation of osteoblast cells, with the aim to get new, more tissue - specific antiosteoporosis drugs for the improvement of the body bone metabolism balance.Recently the cholesterol-lowering drug Statins are reported for their new effects on bone formation. Based on the inhibition of Statins on HMG-CoA and the effetion can...
