Rat Gastric Acid Secretion In The Mucosa Of Stomach Hormone-releasing Peptide (grp) Immunoreactive Nerve In The Experimental Ulcer

In the present research the change of GRP nerve fibers in oxyntic area of stomach was studied with special reference to various experimental peptic ulcers.The results are as follows:Immobilization and water immersion stress could induce stress ulcer and decrease of GRP nerves in oxyntic area . After 3 days of stress the decrease of GRP nerves recovered to normal level. The change of GRP nerves caused by stress for 8 hours occured only in oxyntic area, no remarkable changes could be seen in antral area.The degree of ulcer and decrease of GRP nerves were increased with the prolongation of stress time. In general, a marked decrease of GRP nerves occured after 3 hours' exposing to stress.A marked morphological change could also be observed in chromogranins-containing cells in adrenal medulla, but later than the change of GRP nerves in oxyntic area.In contrary to GRP nerves the density of cholinesterase positive nerves in oxyntic area was enhanced by stress.No remarkable changes of staining with VIP, NPY, CGRP and Met-enkaphain anti-sera could be seen in the mucosa of stomach of stressed animals.In the various peptic ulcers induced by drugs it was...
