Mongolian Shaman Medical Medical Anthropology Interpretation

The medicine is not only a science from the perspective of biology, but also a culture in the aspect of anthropology. The existence and evolution of Mongolian Shaman medical treatment are closely connected with various factors, such as the social and living environment, production and life style, and social changes of the Mongolian nationality. As an important part of traditional culture, folk medical treatment, including Shaman medical treatment, is a presentation of cultural diversity. Therefore, the study into folk medical treatment is critical for understanding Mongolian traditional culture; it also serves as an alternative evaluation standard for folk culture and traditional culture.As a kind of folk religious medical treatment, Mongolian Shaman medical treatment emerged on the cultural background of Shaman. According to materials known to the writer, there's so far no systematic study into Mongolian Shaman medical treatment from the aspect of medical anthropology or anthropology. Thus, the dissertation becomes a primary attempt in this field. Therefore, it would be of certain academic values for extending the research scope of medical anthropology, richening the ritual study of anthropology and Shamanism.This dissertation takes medical practices in Korqin Boge (Shaman) as the object of study.
