Asthma is a chronic inflammatory airway disease in which many cells play a role, in particular lymphocytes, eosinophils and mast cells. Many studies have documented that a significant subgroup of patients with asthma does not accurately estimate the change in airways obstruction. The difference in the perception of asthma symptoms directly influences the behavior of asthmatics. The role that negative mood plays in perception of asthma symptoms is on research in recent years.Few studies have investigated the role that transitory changes in negative mood play in the fluctuation of airways obstruction and symptom reports in asthmatics. The role of negative mood in the perception of asthma symptoms has not been proven yet. In this study, the influence of transitory changes in negative mood on the perception of asthma symptoms was investigated. This study consists of three sections. The methods of research were discussed in the first and second section. The role that transitory changes in mood played in the perception of asthma symptoms was investigated in the third section. 21 Patients were recruited, one of which only took part in the research on the compliance of asthma diaries. The clinical application of portable spirometry in bronchial asthma was investigated in the first section. The results indicated that in asthmatics with a normal daytime spirometry, decreases of FEV1 and PEF were observed at night and in the early morning. A within-subject the correlation of FEV1 , PEF, asthma symptoms and negative mood showed that a weak correlation between the degree of airways obstruction and the magnitude of asthma symptoms. One type of asthmatics reported many complaints with nearly normal spirometry. Their symptoms were not correlated with FEV1 and PEF and were correlated with negative mood. On the contrary, another type of asthmatics did not report any symptoms while...
