Objective:The aims of this study were to investigate the expression of soluble receptor for advanced glycation end products(sRAGE)and to evaluate its relationship with interleukin-8(IL-8),first-second forced expiratory volume(FEV1),fractional exhaled ni-tric oxide(Fe NO)and asthma Control Test(ACT)in patients with adult asthma(asthma). At the same time, the specificity and sensitivity of sRAGE in the diagnosis of adult asthma were analyzed by receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve.Methods:Sixty-eight cases of patients with adult asthma were recruited in this study from October 2016 to March 2017 in Gansu Provincial Hospital. The patients were divided into acute group(n=33cases),chronic group(n=35 cases)and 20 healthy adults were enrolled as the control group. The levels of sRAGE and IL-8 in the serum of each group were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELASA),and FEV1 and Fe NO were routinely detected. The sRAGE correlation with and IL-8,FEV1,ACT and Fe NO was analyzed.Results:1.The levels of sRAGE,ACT and FEV1 in asthmatic patients were significantly lower than those in the control group(p<0.05).The levels of sRAGE,ACTand FEV1 in the patients with the acute group were significantly lower than those in the chronic group(p<0.05).The levels of IL-8 in asthmatic patients were significantly higher than those in the control group(p<0.05).The levels of IL-8 in the acute group were significantly higher than those in the chronic group(p<0.05).The level of Fe NO in the acute group was significantly higher than that in patients with chronic and control(p<0.05).There was no significantdifferenceinFe NOlevelbetweenthechronicandcontrol group(p>0.05).2.Pearson correlation analysis showed that sRAGE was negatively correlated with IL-8 and Fe NO(r=-0.834;-0.503,p<0.01),and positively correlated with FEV1and ACT(r=0.903;0.685,p<0.01).3.The sensitivity and specificity of sRAGE for the diagnosis of adult asthma were based on ROC curves. The cut-off value was 69.75 with the maximum Yoodendex=0.64.The sensitivity and specificity of sRAGE in adult asthma were95%,69.1%.The area under ROC curve of sRAGE was 0.857.Conclusion:Changes in sRAGE expression as the condition of bronchial asthma aggravates, the more sRAGE consumed, the plasma concentration of sRAGE decreases accordingly.Pearson correlation analysis showed that sRAGE was negatively correlated with IL-8 and Fe NO,and positively correlated with FEV1and ACT.Therefore,sRAGE can provide a new reference index for asthma diagnosis.
