Objective To establish injectable tissue-engineered cartilage with a new biomaterial which containing allogenic cartilage microparticle acellular tissue matrix(CMACTM) and fibrin glue. Methods CMACTM from porcine articular cartilage was established by multistep enzymic method and turned into powder(diametre 0.100~0.154 mm).On the other hand, chondrocytes were taken from the experimental swines and exoteric amplificated to 108 in number. With fibrin glue, CMACTM and the chondrocytes were combined and injected back to the experimental swines at the points of arthrodial cartilage defects. Specimens were harvested 12 weeks later and analyzed by physics and histology, and also compared with the groups without CMACTM and the groups of blank control. Results Chondrocytes in the cultured tissues of experiment groups behaved good functions of growth and secretion, and the defects were repaired with hyaline cartilage. Better physical characters were observed in CMACTM groups. Poor repair were seen in the groups without CMACTM and the blank control. The results were semiquantified by the Pineda score system and statistical differences were shown by SPSS.Conclusion It is a promising way of conbining CMACTM and fibrin glue as biomaterial for injectable cartilage tissue engineering.
