Most children with postoperative cleft lip and palate, they present different level of speech disorders, especially the postoperative cleft lip and palate children with velopharyngeal incompetency, whose speech disords are more severe. But now, in China, there are few research on the clinical speech therapy for those children, and then, those are the key points what this study focuses on.This study started from the characteristics of the speech system in the postoperative cleft lip and palate children with velopharyngeal incompetency, analysed the causes and characteristics of the speech disorders in those children, considered the rules of the auditory development in healthy children, followed the rules of combining the therapy for the causes with the therapy for the symptoms and combining the traditional therapy skills with modern techniques, and then built up a framework of speech therapy for those children basically.With the summarizations of the experiences and lacks of the speech therapy for the postoperative cleft lip and palate children with velopharyngeal incompetency in this area, combining the former research results with the personal experiences in clinical therapy, and focusing on the basic reason of speech disorders in those children, this thesis presented many speech theray skills in details.In the form of single subject research, this study did some speech therapy for the postoperative cleft lip and palate children with velopharyngeal incompetency in the use of the framework and therapy skills of speech therapy for those children.Through that clinical research, we proved the availability of those framework and therapy skills.
