Part I The invention of practical response and collection system using in fMRIObjective To invent a practical response and collection device to accomplish input and output of tasks in functional magnetic resonance imagingMethods Apply 4 core lines of attachment with key set box and control box of PVC texture to carry out input and output of tasks, which combined with computer and presentation software.10 communication mode is used to signal transmission. Results By using this practical response and collection device, we successfully completed various experiments of fMRI and the results were reliable. Conclusion The practical response and collection system of fMRI is easy and useful. It can meet the basic needs of clinic and scientific research. It is worth of popularity and generalization in units which have not visual and auditory stimuli commutation system.Partâ…¡Resting fMRI study of IAD college students based on method of ReHo analysisObjective Regional homogeneity (ReHo) method was used to analyze possible cerebral functional characteristics of IAD college students under the resting state. Methods The subjects included 19 IAD college students and 19 matched healthy controls. Functional magnetic resonance image (fMRI) was obtained on a Siemens 3.0-Tesla Trio Tim scanner with high-speed gradients. Regional homogeneity (ReHo) method was used to analyze the differences of cerebral functional characteristics between two groups under resting state. Results The following increased ReHo brain regions were found in IAD group compared with the control group:cerebellum, brainstem, right cingulate gyrus, bilateral parahippocampus, right frontal lobe(rectal gyrus, inferior frontal gyrus and middle frontal gyrus), left superior frontal gyrus, left precuneus, right postcentral gyrus, right middle occipital gyrus, right inferior temporal gyrus, left superior temporal gyrus and middle temporal gyrus. The decreased ReHo was only found in left precuneus. Conclusion Abnormal brain activity of IAD college students may exist in a resting state compared with the control group. It was concluded that there are enhancements of synchronization among cerebellum, brainstem, limbic lobe, frontal lobe, apical lobe which related to reward pathways in IAD college students.Part III Functional MRI study based on task of IAD college studentsObjective To explore the functional locations of brain regions related to internet addition with task-functional magnetic resonance imaging. Methods 19 college students who had internet game addition and 19 controls accepted the stimuli of videos via computer, while the 3.0 Tesla MRI was used to record the results of echo plannar imaging. The block design method was used. Intragroup and intergroup analysis results in two groups had gotten. The differences between the two groups were analyzed. Results The internet game videos markedly actived the brain regions of the college students who had or had no internet game addiction. The actived brain regions of the controls including right superior frontal gyrus, right middle frontal, right inferior frontal gyrus, left insular lobe and right precuneus. IAD group showed actived brain regions that mainly distributed over right medial frontal gyrus, right middle frontal gyrus, superior frontal gyrus, bilateral superior temporal gyrus, left transverse temporal gyrus, right inferior parietal gyrus, right inferior parietal lobule, right precuneus, right posterior lobe. Compared with the control group, IAD group showed increased activation in right superior parietal lobule, right insular lobe, right precuneus, right cingulated gyrus, right superior temporal gyrus, left brainstem and some decreased activation brain regions. Conclusion Internet game tasks can active the vision, space, attention and execution center which are composed of temporal occipital gyrus and frontal parietal gyrus. Abnormal brain function may be exist in IAD and frontal cortex may be hypofunction. IAD group show laterality activation of right brain.Part IV An 1H-MRS study of IAD college studentsObjective To study cerebral spectroscopy characteristics of IAD college students by using 1H-proton magnetic resonance imaging. Methods Chemical shift image 1H-MRS examinations in bilateral frontal lobe and brainstem were acquired from 14 healthy volunteers (control group) and 14 cases (patient group) with IAD. The relative concentrations of NAA, Cr, and Cho were observed and the ratios of NAA/Cr and Cho/Cr were evaluated. Results IAD group showed descended the peak of NAA and ascended the peak of Cho. NAA/Cr and Cho/Cr levels in bilateral frontal lobe of IAD group showed markedly statistical difference compared with the control group (P<0.01). There were no statistical difference of NAA/Cr and Cho/Cr levels in bilateral brainstem of the two groups (P>0.05)Conclusion IAD group may be abnormal function with frontal lobe or loss of partial neurons. To a certain extent, cell membrane function of neurons may be damaged or signal transduction may be abnormal.
