"Becoming the immortal through capturing the essence of Daoism" is the ultimate goal of Chhuan Chen Tao whose practice and theory are based on it. This connotation of Chhuan Chen Tao has seen some substantial changes. Chhuan Chen Tao advocates "amending one's heart through virtues", and embraces the value of promoting spiritual world, pursuing perfect morality and health in body and spirit. Therefore, inwardness practice occupies an important role in amending the heart of Chhuan Chen Tao. As to Chhuan Chen Tao, morality is the base of amending the heart, step of purifying one's integrity, and weapon of restraining one's desires. What's more, it is even regarded by practitioners as the standard of becoming an immortal. Thus, Chhuan Chen Tao considers that good moral culture and powerful moral force is benefit for one's spiritual health and mental realm.With moral culture as its starting point, Chuan Chen Tao achieves the goal of finding one's true self through both theory and practice. The inwardness in Chhuan Chen Tao is mental realm. The inwardness culture is in fact culture in terms of spiritual level which purifies the spiritual world through ethics and achieves the ideal state of "harmony between man and nature" by both inner and outer transcending. Therefore, "harmony between man and nature" is the highest spiritual pursuit of Chuan Chen Tao and the highest spiritual goal of individuals as well.Based on morality, the inwardness practice of Chhuan Chen Tao pursues supreme good morality and supreme harmonious psychology, which has lots of similarities with post humanistic psychology of the modern west. Bearing abundant spiritual meaning, both of the two ideas go beyond the psychological treatment and penetrate deeply into the treatment at the spiritual level, showing the interdependent and synergistic relation between spiritual treatment and moral culture.
