This thesis, based on the bone method of the Chinese painting skills, attempts to demonstrate the mould in a different style and analyze the factors influencing the portrayal of characters specifically, such as vividness in the performance of mould, the bone method in the performance of spatial relationship and the convention of Chinese figure painting, etc. Through the specific examples and analysis, we can more systematically understand the conventions and characteristics of Chinese figure painting. Besides, the thesis further studies the development of figure painting after the Tang Dynasty and makes a conclusion of Wang Yi's portrait painting and pithy formula in Yuan Dynasty. The moulds and characteristics of portrait paintings transferred from painting skills of the moulds to color skills of the moulds and portrait paintings began to emphasize the performance of picture.
