In recent years, the academia studied in Enshi area from multi-angle and multi-level, and has achieved fruitful results. However, few scholars took Qingjiang River basin as the geographic scope in their studies from the perspective of the history of communications and very few scholars focus on the trade routes of the Qingjiang River. Most researchers of "cultural routes" are engaged in urban planning, architectural design, tourism and other related disciplines focusing on the introduction of protection and tourism development of the architectural style of the "cultural routes". As a result, there are few significant findings of the history of "cultural routes", combining with the cultural heritage to examine the cultural connotation of the "cultural routes".This article intends to study the distribution route, the town of towns along the way setting the formation and development, ethnic distribution and fusion, the tangible cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage in Qingjiang River, from the perspective of the cultural routes. Meanwhile, it aims to compare the Qingjiang River trades route and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal trade routes which as "cultural routes", to analyse the Qingjiang River trade routes from the perspective of cultural studies, to explore the contemporary value of the Qingjiang River trade routes, to reveal the trade routes and cultural interaction, to evaluate the contribution of trade routes to the cultural development, and to sort out the commercial civilization role in promoting the development of culture.This article boils down into three parts. The first part is introduction. It is about the range and sense of this theme, the range and sense of it, the present situation of the research, and the way to study it. By combing the previous research results, it intends to determine the new approach of this theme, aiming to study the Qingjiang River trade routes by the concept of "cultural routes". It is based on the research of Qingjiang River trade routes with the study of the interaction between trade routes and cultural. The second part includes the first chapter to the fifth. The first chapter is by combing the natural and social environments of the Qingjiang River, to study the natural environments deciding the prototype of Qingjiang River trade routes and the social environment providing the opportunities and conditions to the developments and changes of Qingjiang River trade routes. The second chapter is in chronological order, to pick the Qingjiang River trade routes from the original to the bureaucratization, to distribute the specific routes of the Qingjiang River trade route clearly, and by analysis of the valleys towns along the Qingjiang River to reflect the Qingjiang River trade routes on the spread of culture. The third chapter will focus on the study the Qingjiang River trade routes by the theory of "cultural routes", and analyse the Qingjiang River trade routes which as cultural routes from the four aspects that is the spatial characteristics, time characteristics, cultural identity and the role and purpose. The fourth is to classify the intangible cultural heritage and intangible historical heritage in Qingjiang River, based on it to study the Qingjiang River trade routes on cultural interpretation, and to analysis the values of the Qingjiang River trade routes in modern.The last part consists of three chapters. The first is to introduce the background of Restraining Commerce in Chinese farming society. The second is to the impact of commercial culture of fanming civilization. By making commercial culture as the background, the third part is to analyze the interaction between trade routes and culture.
