The Changing Concept of Mongolian Novel Critique in the New Period centers around the conception of novel critique, exploring the essays on the Mongolian novel critique in terms of stylistics since the beginning of the reform and opening-up policy. With a comprehensive and analytical approach, the author carries out a systematic study on the aforementioned materials in order to uncover the internal law during the developmental sequence of the conception of the novel critique.There are five components in the monographic study.First, it is an introduction part consisting of the changing history of the Mongolian novel critique, explanations to the choice of the study, research purposes, research methods and their functions, scopes of references, and literature review.In chapter one, the paper briefly outlines the content study, the new period Mongolian novel and the developmental phases of the theories on Mongolian novel critique, analyzing the status quo on the development of the body of the critics, introducing the present situation both on the theories from domestic Mongolian novel critique in Chinese character and from overseas, such as Mongolia, Buryat Russia and Crimean Mongolia, and etc..To begin with at chapter two, it mainly focuses on the basic elements of novel to research into the changing conception of critique on theme and character. The research with theme critique reveals the fundamental changes:the theme critique developed in relatively free settings in the early stage of reform and opening-up period, with diversified tendencies in the middle and late of1980s, with continued steady growth in the1990s and with new explorations in the new century. The study of novel character critique analyzes the changes of character portrayal, revealing the internal laws on shaping of characters and on the significance of portraying role models. Thus it draws out the significant changes undergone in terms of rules shaping different types of novel characters.A detailed study is carried out from the perspective of critics to explore the traditions and the new patterns of critique in Mongolian novel in chapter three. The traditional patterns, focusing on the aspects of society, history, moral and aesthetics, are examined from the different angles, such as the recognition and understanding of scopes of criticism, standard expansion, and ways of criticism. Furthermore, it also covers the content extension and the changing essentials of new types of critiques on Mongolian novel related to culture and ecology.The last chapter deals with the topic from the perspective of narrative art of novelist. It analyzes the authors'originality in creative thinking, expounding on narrative structure and angle, discussing the functions of novel regarded as from a language tool to both a transmitter and carrier of traditional culture. What is more, it also delineates on rhetorical devices in regard to aesthetics, traditional norms to be observed, and taboos in novel writing.This paper explores the basic elements of novel, novel critique and narrative art of novelist in order to undertake a monographic study which uncovers the internal law in the changing concept of Mongolian novel critique since the reform and opening-up policy, throwing some light in terms of cognition and understanding to the general public.
