Studies On Synonym Of Monosyllabic Notional Words Of The Works Of Mencius

Mencius is one of the most representative figures of the Confucian school after the death of Confucius and his book is one of the most representative quotation and prose works. Its language is clear, easy, succinct and vivid, which reflects true face of spoken language of the mid term of warring states. Its words are systematic. So the studies of them are helpful for the studies of special books of Pre-Qin.The present thesis contains six parts altogether. The first part is introduction, which talks about the present situation, achievement and puts forwards the definition of synonym. The second part is outline of synonym of monosyllabic notional words. The third part is about the relation of synonym which is tested and explained The fourth part deals with synonym discrimination. The fifth part are the patterns of synonym. In the last part , the author probes the formation principle of synonym of monosyllabic notional words of the Works of Mencius.
