Shino's Diary Study

In March, 1999 "the diary of Siro Azuma" was published in China, which aroused active-focused research on Siro Azuma. This research also promoted Chinese people to countattack Japanese right-wing elements who denied the historical affair-? Nanking Massacre.It's very lucky for me to translate the NO.l volume of this diary. This diary narrates Siro Azuma's experience of taking part in Japan-China war from September, 1937 to September ,1938. How can this diary get enormous reflection in China? Who is Siro Azuma? How about his diary? What is the meaning of his diary? what effect has the diary to promote the friendship between people in China and Japan? That's my purpose to begin the research.According to materials and the view of historial materialism, I describe all Siro Azuma' s life梐dulthood, during the war and peaceful old age .1 also analyse his growth environment, experience and background. Militarism affects Siro Azuma deeply as well as the thoughts of Japanese democratism in period of Tai Xio. The two contradictory thoughts take joint influence on his view of war, royalty and China as well as his conflicts and changes of life value and moral value. These conflicts and changes make him self-questioning , disclosing truth of the war and struggling with Japanese right wing organizations .To make clear his diary, I check and compare different editions published at various periods including (Japanese edition, 1987),(Chinese edition, 1999),(Chinese edition, 2001) and (Japanese edition, 2001). With content contrast and schedule taxis , 1 point out the difference of various editions and analyse the corresponding social background, which establish the basis of further research.In order to study the diary macroscopically and microcosmically, I classify and check the content of diary according to the historical affairs and basic characters. 1 also analyse the reflection in china after the publishment of this book, expressing the positive significance and discovering the new revelatory function. So I further study the realistic significance as well as the revelatory function for the relationship between Japanese and China.How does the diary reflect the great significance and value? That depends on the formation and develepment of Siro Azuma's thoughts, which is the main part of my research-According to the schedule and content of his diary , I divide his thoughs into the view of war, the historial view of emperor and the view of China, which are easy to master. I analyse the formation, development and changes of these views and get the clear answer. Meanwhile , I research on the origin of Siro Azuma's peaceful view which emerges after the change of these basic points, especially the intrinsic cause of Siro Azuma's denaturation. So we can ravel the process of his thoughs changes and his transformation to be a soldier struggling for peaceful undertaking and true history. Siro Azuma's view changes are very typical which directly reflects the breakdown of Japanese militarism. Peace is our hope, while war is our enemy, militarism is temporary and spurious. Only if the beguiling thoughts exist, the significance of Siro Azuma's diary will never fade away.In order to explain the modern meaning of Siro Azuma's diary, we have to ravel the struggling process between Japanese right-wing elements and Siro Azuma .1 clear up the whole course of Siro Azuma's lawsuit which is very important to the research.. I also analyse the reflection of thetwo governments and people. The diary of Siro Azuma is just like a mirror which show us the historical points of two governments. Just because the existence of his lawsuit, Siro Azuma encounts the block of Japanese right-wing elements.
