Qin-Han Times is in the early days of the feudal society of China, which was characterized by a distinctive age style. On one hand, the increasingly feudalization dropped the female's status, female became the accessory of the male. On the other hand, female in Qin-Han Times took an active part in many kinds of activities, such as agricultural activity, textile activity, commercial activity, political activity and other social activities. Furthermore, they had an intimate association with male under some conditions through some methods. There were no comparison between female in Qin-Han Times and in later ages, such as Ming-Qing Times. But in Qin-Han Period, when the Confusianism became the dominated social ideology, the situation has changed a little. Moreover, a lot of books in Qin-Han Times taught the people sexual skills and experiences. In such books, female was regarded as a kind of medicine. Based on the two realizations, the research on female idea included two hands conceptions: one is from ordinary visual angle, the other is from special angle of view.Research on female idea from the ordinary visual angle started with female's life, which was divided into family life and social life. Family life was closed, social life was open at the same time. As far as the large amounts of female were concerned, family life was their main life and the first step to research the female idea from the ordinary visual angle. In the meantime, social life was very important to the research because female in Qin-Han Times took an active part in it. Their family life and social life also had duality. For example, as a daughter, they must obey the order of their parents or brothers; as a daughter-in-law, they must obey the order of parents-in-law; as a wife, they must try their best to meet the husband's all kinds of demands. But they also had the chance to raise a claim, such as divorce because she didn't want to stand husband's poor or disease. As a female in Qin-Han Times, they also went outdoors to do some works to earn more money to subsidize the family's spending. But they also were imposed more restrictions onmany sides.Qin and the early days of Western Han Period was the first stage of development of female idea in Qin-Han Times, which inherited the traditions of pre-Qin Period. The middle and late stage of the Western Han Period was the second stage of it, which raised a series of very practical female idea actuated by overstep the emperors' authority. The Eastern Han Period was the third stage of it, which had a transition in female idea.Explaining on the female idea from ordinary visual angle included two sides of conception. One is respecting and valuing female, the other is belittling and controlling female. Taoism was the main thought source of the former and Confucianism was the main thought origin of the latter. They struggled, mixed and integrated. When the female idea of Qin-Han Times came into being, it became the basis of main social current of China.Research on female idea from the special visual angle began with lots of books , which told people sexual skills. Although female was a force to be ignored, many sexual skills can't do without their cooperation. Many people believed that female was a special medicine to their partner in the bedroom. This was one character of sexual culture of ancient China. It's very prevailing and the Confucianism had to approve it. The Taoism and the Confucianism had the different emphasis on it. The Taoism lay particular emphasis on long life, the Confucianism lay particular emphasis on bearing children. This is what we must know.We have more advanced female idea now. But it's well known that the traditional female idea also affect our thought, which based on the female idea of Qin-Han Times. So it's very necessary to research the female idea of Qin-Han Times.
