Context cue effect refers to that individuals can improve their visual search efficiency by learning the spatial relation of the relative position of the target in the distractor.Generally speaking, the acquisition of spatial position relation is a kind of unconscious implicit learning.Previous studies have shown that the level of implicit memory is not affected by cognitive aging, but there are different conclusions on the existence of context cue effect caused by implicit memory in the elderly. Some studies have shown that the elderly cannot form implicit memories of repeated relative spatial location information, but some researchers believe that the elderly have no defects in this regard. This study attempts to explain this controversy and proposes practical Suggestions to improve the quality of life of the elderly by using the effect of context cues.Researches shows that in visual search tasks involving repeated scene location information, the higher the requirement of search cost, the more inclined individuals are to use memory strategy rather than perception strategy to complete the task, and context clues may bring higher time benefit.Researches in cognitive neuroscience has shown that there is a fore-posterior aging transition in the elderly, and anterior brain activation is used to compensate for the decline of physiological visual processing ability in a variety of tasks, which also causes the decline of spatial memory level in the elderly to some extent. Therefore, this study modified the classic pattern of context cue effect and added the angle of view of target as the independent variable of visual search cost.hypothesized: the smaller the angle of view of target is,the weaker the context cue effect will be.When the angle of view of target is too much small, the individual will not use the memory strategy in visual search task, and the context cue effect will not exist.Compared with the young people, the older people began to change their search decisions, and using memory strategy to search required a larger target perspective. Conclusions were drawn as follows: 1.Both the youth group and the elderly group obtained the context cue effect in the experiment, and there was no significant age difference in the level.2.The benefits of context clues obtained by the subjects from different angle of view were significantly different, and the benefits of context clues made less contribution to the speed of search when the angle of view was smaller. The higher the cost of visual search is,the more the individual relies on a top-down strategy to complete the task.3.When the angle of view of target is different, the benefit of context clues obtained by the subjects in different age groups will be different, and it is more difficult for the elderly to use the implicit cognitive process to complete the task.
