China was founded on the basis of agriculture, and agriculture dominated the ancient social and production system. Traditional Chinese agricultural civilization refers to the ideological system based on ancient agricultural production and life. As the foundation of tradition al Chinese culture, this system maintains highly steady vitality in the adaptation and integration with ancient Chinese economy and politics. Since modern times, with the changes of Chinese economic and political structure and the impact of new internal and external exotic culture, traditional agricultural civilization began changing and transiting towards modern civilization. This historical transition has been achieved by now, and modern civilization system is under formation and construction. However, ancient agricultural civilization is gleaming once more in the formation of modern civilization.The whole passage includes 6 parts:Chapter 1. Introduction. This chapter explains the purpose and significance of the study, tells the development at home and abroad, train of thought, method and the originality of the passage.Study on traditional Chinese agricultural civilization is a study field developed in recent years, and there have appeared some study accumulation and achievement. Study on the change and transition of traditional Chinese agricultural civilization is a new topic. Started by the existing research achievements, guided by Marxistic materialism, drawing on the theoretic views of contemporary philosophy and sociology, and based on historical document and investigation materials, this study analyzes the formation, basic ideology and transition process of in the integration of economy, politics and culture. It has certain theoretic and realistic significance in deepening the understanding of the type s and characteristics of traditional Chinese agricultural civilization, in recognizing the main contents and path of the change of Chinese culture since modern times and in appraising the position and value of traditional agricultural civilization in modern civilization. The passage makes new exploits in the appraising criteria of civilization transition, the specific contents of the traditional Chinese agricultural civilization, periods oftransition and its role in the formation of modern civilization and comes up with some new views.Chapter!. Civilization and traditional Chinese agricultural civilization. This chapter is the theoretic foundation and preface of the study. It analyzes the concept, type s, transition of civilization and its appraising standards in a common sense, then discusses furthermore traditional Chinese agricultural civilization.This study adopts the cultural concept in the narrow sense, that is, the ideological system formed and created in human's living practice. According to the economic and political basis, ideological contents and its social function, culture falls into different types. Cultural transition is a change and transition from one culture to another. On the problem, this passage proposes 4 criteria to evaluate cultural transition in theory for the first time: 1. Whether the economic and political basis of the old culture has undergone significant or substantial change: 2. Whether there has appeared new culture and it has compact on the old one; 3. Whether the new culture is recognized and supported by the government; 4. Whether the public cultural ideology has altered. These four standards will distinguish whether the culture has been conversed and its transition degree.Traditional Chinese agricultural civilization, mainly defined on the basis of economy or production, refers to the ideological system formed or established on the ancient Chinese agricultural production and living.Chapter 3.
