Systemization of the indicative supplemental structure of the Sino-Tibetan family of languages (abbr. as Sino-Tibetan languages in the text) provides the theme of research for the thesis in a series of case analysis explicit description of syntactical and semantically features so as to lead to the formation of typological references. Cross-examination of characteristics and origins of this structure among member languages and beyond substantiates progressive analytical proof of the study.Indicative supplemental structure exists as one of the basic phenomena of syntax of common usage in the Sino-Tibetan family of languages. The research on the Chinese language has resulted in the definition and pre-conclusion of the origin and development of this structure against less agreeable research efforts in other family languages. Generalization of the genetic mechanism, direction of development, interactions among member languages will also benefit our research on the typology of the subject matter from which issues of the thesis were generated and elaborated.Vacancy in research efforts in syntactical systems inspired this thesis on the indicative supplemental structure of the Sino-Tibetan family of languages. Comparative study of the indicative supplemental structure is of typological significance in relation to an understanding that differences in the application of indicative supplements and their functions inexpression control the development of grammatical systems among languages and reflect typological characteristics, typological differences, interlocks and interactions of linguistic typology so as to substantiate the theoretical buildup of typology for the Sino-Tibetan family of languages.Obvious practical value is found in the research of the indicative supplemental structure with potential degree of difficulty to non-speakers, as the structure is in depth a syntactical character. Key issues in terms teaching Chinese as a second language involve efforts to transform syntactical ideas into practical structures. Research alone will provide assistance to our application in teaching Chinese as a second language should correct direction generate systematic analyses. From the feedback of non-speakers in their likely mistakes, educators and researchers will have the inspiration for improvements even targeting the structure itself. The thesis intends to explain the following topics: 1. By structural comparison, the thesis intends to explain the developmental stages of the Tibeto-Burman group. Intra-family comparison resulted in the findings of the four developmental stages of the indicative supplemental structure ofthe Tibeto-Burman group from primitive, adhesive, compound, adhesive-compound (single or no structural auxiliaries), adhesive-compound (frequent use of structural auxiliaries with syntactical value). 2. The thesis intends to demonstrate the similarities and differences and the systems developed from these factors among suchlanguages as Chinese, the Tibeto-Burman group, the Zhuang-Dong group, and the Miao-Yao group. Typological analysis was conducted through comparative study among member languages. 3. The thesis intends to explain the developmental environment and containment that jeopardized such development. Comparative study resulted in such findings as that the indicative supplemental structure existed in analytically oriented languages according to typological standards. Lack of development in adhesive languages was found due to he linguistic features of such languages themselves. Inflectional languages contain considerable amount of indicative supplemental structures and yet hardly form an independent structural type due to formal distinctions and expressional overlaps. The thesis is consisted of five chapters. Chapter one, the introduction explains the meanings and difficulties of the narrative supplemental structure of the Sino-Tibetan family of languages, outlines major contents, methodology and problems solved. The thesis aims at an affirmation that the narrative supplementa...
