The thesis sorts the characters of DE structure through the comparison with the languages in Sino-Tibetan language system. The study is base on the theories of typology and historical comparative linguistics. Meanwhile, it describes different type of DE structure for various languages according to their richness degree. Subsequent, it explores the mechanism which influences the richness degree of DE structure. And it also discusses both the evolution and origin of De structure. There are three innovations in this thesis: 1. classification of DE structure in Sino-Tibetan languages from the point of typology; 2. systematic comparison and analysis of etymon relationships of attributive auxiliary word-DE in Sino-Tibetan languages, reveal of evolutionary process and developmental rules of DE; 3. manifestation of the cause and mechanism of DE structure's appearance in Sino-Tibetan languagesDue to the late beginning of the research on DE structure in non-Chinese languages, many phenomena of DE structure have not been comprehensively and deeply studied. This thesis gives superiority to materials and pay major attention to the collection, analysis and comparison of language materials about DE structure. Based on that, viewpoints reflecting rules of Sino-Tibetan languages are concluded and abstracted. The thesis is divided into six chapters.Chapter One: Introduction. Research object is decided, with the explanation of the meaning and value of it. Main content and structural arrangement of the thesis is reviewed. The difficulties and innovations, together with research methods and material sources are introduced.Chapter Two: Historical review of researches on DE structure inSino-Tibetan languages. The researches of DE structure among Chinese and non-Chinese languages are viewed. Put it in more details. The research of Chinese DE structure is divided into three phases. Based on the collection and analysis of historical research points, focuses and divergences of Chinese DE structure research have been concluded with pertinence. Furthermore, angles and main content of non-Chinese DE structure research have been put forward, with analysis about problems of research and research methods.Chapter Three: Type classification of DE structure in Sino-Tibetan languages. DE structures in Sino-Tibetan languages are divided into developed DE structure, undeveloped DE structure and quasi-developed DE structure. Based on that, semantic type, structural type and syntactic function of different types of DE structure, together with function of attributive auxiliary word DE are comprehensively analyzed.Chapter Four: Comparison of etymon relationships of attributive auxiliary word DE in Sino-Tibetan languages. Through systematic analysis of phonetic characteristics of attributive auxiliary word DE with relative relationships, etymon relationships of attributive auxiliary word DE among different languages are compared. We find that attributive auxiliary word DE in "Chinese and three ethical languages" has no etymon relationships. Being a postnatal grammatical device, DE appears after the division of different phylums in Sino-Tibetan languages. Furthermore, the development of different types of attributive auxiliary word DE shows certain levels. The origin of attributive attributive auxiliary word may be earlier than modificatory attributive auxiliary word.Chapter Five: DE structure in Sino-Tibetan languages from the point of typology. Systematic comparison of DE structures in Sino-Tibetan languagesis carried on from the point of typology. With the study of Tibeto-Burmese and Chinese, we have discovered the nature and characteristics of Chinese DE structure, along with the discussion of the internal language mechanism constraining different types of DE structure in Sino-Tibetan languagesChapter Six: Brief summary. Main ideas of this thesis are concluded and further research dimensions are put forward. The meaning of this research lies in: 1. Observing characteristics of DE structure through comparing all Sino-Tibetan languages can help to deepen our understanding of DE structure within Sino-Tibetan languages. 2. Comparison among relative languages may pioneer a new angle of DE structure research within Sino-Tibetan languages. It is hard to discover embedded and essential characteristics of DE structure in Sino-Tibetan languages by studying only one language. The methods adopted by this research: 1. Language comparison. The characteristics of DE structure can be clearly manifested through its comparison with other related languages. 2. Etymon comparison. We analyze the origin, evolution and historical phases of DE structure from comparing Etymon relationships of attributive auxiliary word DE among relative languages. 3. Systematic research. De structure is a complete system, which is composed of attributive types, attributive auxiliary word and order characteristics. Explaining the differences of DE structure among languages needs comprehensive study of structure and characteristics of all language grammars.
