Except Luyou,Yangwanli and Fanchengda, Liukezhuang was the most excellentwriter in the late South Song Dynasty. His poems is a mirror of his time, for there is avery close relation between his poems and the society and culture in the late SouthSong Dynasty.The most distinct character of Liukezhuang's poems is that there is not only one styleand mode in his works. But his antitheses are too careful and neat, so that his poemsseems a bit dull and lack of energy. To make his poems sound vigorous and forceful,he used many Zheju(折句), unusual and bizarre structures. It's actual a practice towrite poems with the way of writing articles. The basic style of Liukezhuang's early Ci is powerful and free, unbridled and rough,full of a spirit of grief and indignation. He wrote many Ci of congratulating and usingthe rhyme sequence of a poem, and the mood in his poems is decadent andunrestrained.In Liukezhuang's poetry talks, he stresses knowledge, strength, talent and spirit. Headvocates imposing manner, high level and great state, and he dislikes small writerssinging just like small worms. At the same time, his poetry talks emphasizes vigour ofstrokes and sentence structures, maintains weighing and deliberating hiswrings ,imbibing and absorbing many styles, and shows us a spirit of synthesizing.
