American Chinese Literature has its own internal relationship in subject concerns, however, the writers of 1960's from Taiwan and writers after 1980's from the mainland have different cultural standpoints and perspectives in dealing with the related subjects, thus come the diversified expressions. Facing hardships of living in America, writers from Taiwan begin to reflect on the significance of survival, while the new immigrant writers calmly describe the true livings of Chinese in U.S. On contacting with theother--the Americans, the former always stereotyping the Americans as uglyand stupid individuals, while the latter make friends with them, regarding them as common people. The last chapter is a case study on Yan Geling's Fusang, analyzing the subject expansion of new immigrant writers, esp. the imagination of the immigrant history and the new trend of cultural dialogue and communication.Writers from Taiwan turn to Chinese culture for spiritual support, while the new immigrant writers try to melt into American society.
