North American new immigrant literature is an important sector of overseas Chinese literature,and has its unique cultural and literary value.As a survival literature in multicultural context,new immigrant literature shows deep cultural meaning.It reflects the struggle of overseas Chinese in a foreign country from a cross cultural perspective,including their ideals,setbacks,successes and failures,thus showing a unique cultural mind of the Chinese community.Chinese culture is the spiritual home of new immigration,but also the root of North American new immigrant literature,new immigrant writers of Chinese writing showing converted to the psychological orientation of country culture.In this paper,"cultural identity" as the breakthrough point,through the study of North American new immigrant literature,to discuss the complex psychology identity of new immigrant literature in multicultural context,and then summarize the North American new immigrant literature writers and their works is how to carry out the identity of the Chinese culture.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this paper is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is the new immigrant literature theme of homeland,this part mainly from native memory and the home culture two parts to discuss.New immigrants to North America,their own home culture suffered the impact of the western culture,language barriers,differences in habits,thinking utterly let them feel uneasy,they in the memorial homeland writing has converted to the desire of the home country culture,but also reflects their strong will to live.Nostalgia has always been the motif of Chinese culture and Chinese literature,for the wanderer wandering abroad,it is a manifestation of a trace.New immigrants from the hometown of remembrance and family history to relieve homesickness,to find the direction of cultural identity,reflecting the early immigrants "transplant" and "return" of the pain.The second chapter is the reflection of Chinese history under the perspective of new immigrants.New immigrants come into contact with other culture different from the home country culture,in the face of western culture influence,new immigrants began to reflect on their own traditional culture.For new immigrants,the "Cultural Revolution" incident and the traditional ethic doctrine are the scars of their generation,they have grown up in the history of myth painful days,overseas experience allowed them to have enough geographical and psychological distance to review national history and culture,the critique of reason than indictment,they also reshape the image of Chinese immigrants,reconstruct the spiritual self.These works reflect the historical and cultural feedback to come to China to promote the development of Chinese culture and Chinese literature.The third chapter is the cultural consciousness of the new immigrant literature.Culture is the change of the flow,and cultural identity is also a dynamic process,the cultural identity of the new immigrants is not limited to the national culture,and the reflection of the national history makes them have the mentality of transcending the national culture.Since the 21 st Century,the global concept of new immigrants has been strengthened,they tend to accept the cultural identity of the "world citizen" and "drifting discrete" state of life.Cross cultural experience in life so that new immigrants to recognize the possibility of cultural interaction between China and the west,they meet from the western culture with a more open and free attitude,and become a pioneer in the integration of cultural exchanges between China and the west,this process can also be regarded as an opportunity for the development of Chinese culture.Newcomers acceptance of Western culture does not mean that they have forgotten their ancestors,on the contrary,stimulate multicultural make them pay more attention to their home country culture.
