Based on Marxist historical materialism and materialist dialectics, with the interactiveframe of history, economics, sociology, law, politics, the thesis exposes the historicalcondition and the development course of the economic system of England under mercantilism,and studies the development of intervention system of the state, the forming of marketeconomy ,the coming forth of enterprise system in England. By comparing the economicsystem under mercantilism with the economic system under feudalism and the economicsystem under liberalism ,the thesis affirms the historical status and the importanteffect .Based on the studies of economic system of the transition period from feudalism tocapitalism, the thesis uncovers the positive effect of mercantilism of England, and points outthe limitation of mercantilism as the ideology carrier of commerce capitalism. The introduction reviews the history of studies on economic transformation andmercantilism of England in mercantile ages, and explains the basic concepts and theories inthe field, and puts forward the significance of the topic. This thesis is divided into five chapters: Chapter 1 uncovers the historical condition of the rising of mercantilism in England, i.e.the disintegration of rural economy of feudalism, the blossoming of commodity and currencyeconomy, the uprising of national state, and expounds the main content and the ideologicalconnotation of mercantilism, and criticizes the prejudice imposed on the mercantilism, anddiscusses other factors which affect the forming of economic system under mercantilism, forexample, the political system, the level of economic development ,etc. Chapter 2 shows up the state'intervention in the economic life .As a economic power,the state strengthen its economic function and consummate its management organizationgradually. Under the guidance of mercantilism, the state intervene in the economy with thehome policy of protective tariffs, the stabilization of corn prices, the development ofmanufacture, the retaining noble metal at home and the foreign policy of colonizing and tradewar, and with the economic legislation ,for example ,the navigation acts and the corn acts. Chapter 3 studies the forming of market economy as adjustment mechanism of economicsystem of England under mercantilism, and analyses the foundation of market economy. The unitive market come forth with the conflux of rural market, town market and fair intoLondon market .The foreign market experience the staple trade stage and the European tradestage, and engender a network of foreign trade .A multilateralism system establish. Chapter 4 reviews the decision-making mechanism of economic system undermercantilism, exposes transformation of enterprise organization in agriculture, Industry andbusiness, probes the phenomena of merchants dominating production and capitalism characterof workplaces handicrafts in Industry enterprise, the origin of corporation and its significancein commerce enterprise, the importance of emergence of capitalism plantation to agriculturalchange. Chapter 5 is the conclusion.It concludes the basic character ,historical status andimportant effect of economic system of England under mercantilism ,summarizes its full andprofound influence on the economic and social development of England and the historicalprocess of human being .
