The study of The Book of Songs in Qing Dynasty is in a period of great prosperity for the development of traditional studies of The Book of Songs. It is transitional period to modern studies of The Book of Songs. Therefore the research and commentaries are very complex. This dissertation is intended to explore review and commentaries on The Book of Songs in Qing Dynasty, especially the representative studies of The Book of Songs in Qing Dynasty, hoping to make an improvement in the insufficient research at home.To begin with, the paper gives a brief account of the study of The Book of Songs in Qing Dynasty, explore the development and evolvement of the study on The Book of Songs in the early Qing Dynasty and the tradition of textual research. Studies and researches of The Book of Songs are diverse in the early Qing Dynasty, foreshadowing the variety of studies of The Book of Songs in Qing Dynasty. As mentioned in the paper, this diversity of studies can be integrated into the "Han Xue", which forms a solid basis of the prosperity of textual criticism in Qianlong and Jiaqing periods.Secondly, the thesis focally elaborates on the school of textual research on The Book of Songs in Qing Dynasty, which originates in traditional "Han Xue". This school is comparatively more objective and authentic due to the perfection in its scholiastic and textual method. My paper outlines and comments on the method and purpose of the school of textual research, it also explores the reasons for the scarcity of the annotation classics of The Book of Songs in the full development of textual criticism in Qianlong-Jiaqingperiods and the emerging of annotation classics of The Book of Songs in Daoguang period,revealing the regularity and particularity of the development of the learning. It dwells on Ma Ruichen, the representative researcher on The Book of Songs. The paper compares Ma Ruichen with his contemporaries, tries to reveal his objective method in explanation and scientific method in scholium as well as achievement His Mao Shi Zhuan Jian Tong Shi is regarded as the highest achievement of the textual school of The Book of Songs. It makes a conclusion that the traditional mode of political and ethical study gives its way to the scientific and objective research methods.Thirdly, my paper deals with the study Confucian classics in modern script of The Book of Songs in the late Qing Dynasty. Since Jiaqing and Daoguang,the Confucian classics in modern script of the Book of Songs gradually goes up and makes prosperous with evolving of the atmosphere of restore ancient ways,great prosperous of the compiling carefrec and secluded on "San Jia Shi " and gradually appearing of the abuses of Textual criticism of the Book of Songs as well as the activationof "Jing Shi "idea by the political environment fulled of internal suffering and foreign aggression. The paper explores and analyzes the reasons for the revivification of Confucian classics in modern script of the Book of Songs , and makes a comparative study of its basic characteristics. It reviews that Confucian classics in modern script of the Book of Songs in Qing Dynasty is different from the study of "San Jia Shi" in West Han Dynasty and Gong Yang in Qing Dynasty, which focuses on academic discussion and indistinctive Clan-dharma and relevant concept.As representative,Wei Yuan's achievement in interpretion on argumentation is very outstanding.The works San Jia Shi Yi Ji Shu by Wang Xianqian is the epitome of on "San Jia Shi" ,which represents the hightest achievement of the annotation style.By the research of the two cases ,we can realize the elegant demeanor of Confucian classics in modem script of the Book of Songs.Last but not least, my paper reveals the achievement in the study of The Book of Songs through literary perspective in Qing Dynasty. Since Han Dynasty, the study of Confucian Classics has dominated for years, however people pay little attention to the literary perspective which embodies the basic characteristic of The Book of Songs. This phenomenon has changed ever since Ming Dynasty, the literary artistic character arouses enormous attention and interests in scholars and experts. When it comes to the early Qing Dynasty, the study of Confucian classics prevails again, and goes to its best along with the introspection and correction to the style of study in Ming Dynasty as well as the atmosphere of "Jing Shi" rising. Nevertheless the literary research is not coming to its end. On the contrary, plenty of literary review on The Book of Songs can be found in this period, which enriches literary and artistic theory and reveals the artistic features employed in The Book of Songs. Of among them, Yao Jiheng and Fang Yurun etc. advocate literary perspective freed from study of Confucian classics, adding much to literary research of The Book of Songs. The study of The Book of Songs through literary perspective in Qing Dynasty does not exceed that in Ming Dynasty in its breadth, but does in the intensity. This dissertation makes a systematic and in-depth study of poetic illustration, commentary documents and annotative documents, based upon the retrospect and summarization on the literary annotation and explanation and makes a systematic conclusion of the concrete achievement in the explorations on artistic quality of The Book of Songs. It remarks that people in Qing Dynasty has made a great achievement in the approach to aims of The Book of Songs and the study of its artistic features. Through the study, we are able to see study of The Book of Songs through literary point of view owes a great deal to them.By and large, study of The Book of Songs in Qing Dynasty has made unparalleled and unprecedented achievement in scriptural and literary interpretation.
