The target of this dissertation, which was given in chapter 1, is trying to summarize the present status that how Caoyu has been studied in Korea, and is trying to push more research on Caoyu's creations. Such research covers studies on theme, structure, and image analysis of people in Caoyu's great works.In chapter 2, a outline of the history that how Caoyu's dramas was accepted in Korea is described, and also the achievements and tendency of Korea's studies on Caoyu since 1980's is involved in this chapter. Including in Taiwan, form 1980's, the research accomplishments on Caoyu of mainland of China was introduced to Korea. Throughout whole 1990's, studies and scholars in mainland strongly influenced colleagues in Korea. So until 21 century, ultimately the circle of Caoyu's research in Korea breaks through the negative accepting situation and acquires lots of creative achievements. Therefore, the time that Caoyu's research in Korea is divided in three parts: 1980's, 1990's and after 2000.Caoyu's biography and his concept of artistic creation is characterized in chapter 3 .In this chapter, we could recognize that in the beginning Caoyu did not pay more attention on audience's taste and the impact of stage, but after the transformation of his thought, he became more consciously realize that both above were the most important factors in drama creation.In the last chapter, the themes of Caoyu's dramas are analyzed from one by one. |
