An Analysis On Female Fiction In The Forties Under The War Background

In the forties of last century, China underwent two different characteristic wars, which not only changed the Chinese history, but changed its cultural pattern, and Chinese female fiction that emerged under the war background also showed the distinct different features than any previous periods. The paper is mainly about: the wars and the female writers' creative environment in the forties; the wars and their aesthetic attitudes; the wars and their characteristics of the times; the wars and their cultural inside information and so on. The major viewpoints of this paper are that the wars influenced female writers' lives, changed their writing environment, and influenced their aesthetic attitudes while in writing. Under the influence of the wars, in the whole process of their writing, female novelists mainly showed the worldly attitudes, the attitudes of refugees and the political attitudes in the special surroundings. Under the influence of such attitudes, as to the theme of the fiction, the female writers in the forties mainly showed the worries of the survival; as to the description of the imagery, they mainly showed their anxiety of the settled life by seeking the homes; as to the principal consciousness, they mainly mixed the female consciousness with the national liberation and the class liberation to show their distinct characteristics of the times. Influenced by the wars and the aesthetic attitudes, their writing cultural inside information was quite different from that of any previous periods. Under the influence of the wars, the realistic daily life was attached importance to; the commercial relations among people and the colonialism coloring by the foreign aggression were reflected in their creation. The wars led the writers to the loss of their homes, and their refugee lives made them miss their homes very much, and the region culture became their spiritual support under the war circumstances. In the political environment, writers couldn't avoid being interfered by policy, especially those female writers who had the same creative behaviors as those of male writers, but a little difference in political and cultural features. With the help of the full and accurate materials and the concrete analysis, this paper tries to conclude how much the wars influenced the cultural conformity and cultural pattern, tries to analyze the relations between the wars and the female fiction, thus we can find out a new reading method for our researchers in order to construct the new research system of the female fiction in the forties. With regard to the research methodology, this paper mainly uses a long-period and historical research one, on the one hand, this paper is to reveal the concrete features of the female fiction in the forties through the organic connection of the previous and following history, on the other hand, this paper is to think about the success and failure. Meanwhile, with the help of the concerned methods of the cultural and social criticism and the female criticism, this paper tries to look closely at the female fiction in the forties, and tries to excavate its historical connotations, cultural connotations and the features of its age.
