Research On Extraction And Clustering Of Term Definition And Term Extraction

Because of technological advancement, social development, new concepts and objects come into being. A new appellation is needed to name a new concept, accordingly a large amount of terms enter the set of vocabulary. According to the statistics, terms have occupied an increasingly larger part of the vocabulary. Researchers have attached much importance on the study of terminology. From the perspective of linguistics and language information processing, in-depth and systematic research on term is essential and with much practical importance.We are in the era of Internet and information explosion. How to identify the needed information form the sea of information poses problems. Search engines have solved part of the problem which facilitates the search for users. To a specific objective like searching for the definition of a term, however, it can not provide efficient and convenient service.Based on such background, the thesis proposes the following projects:1. on the feasible delimitation of what is "Term";2. on the extraction of term definitions from a large scale corpus;3. on the clustering of term definitions;4. on the recognition of terms based on the extraction of term definitionsThe research is based on the statistics of term database with 83million characters of 328158 terms in 27domains and on statistics of seven years' Peoples' daily.
