The Application Of Term Base In Military Works

With the development of economic globalization,the political,economic and cultural exchanges between countries have become increasingly frequent,and translation plays an important role in these international activities.CAT(Computer Aided Translation)is an important means of boosting translation.It has obvious advantages in improving translation efficiency.CAT can save time,improve translation quality and obtain corresponding translation assets to create greater value.Deploying advanced CAT systems is the trend and requirement for the development of translation industry.This report depicts the author's experience in the translation project Pacific Crucible.The report is divided into four parts,covering the application of translation software,the importance of term bases,the establishment and maintenance of term bases,and also have some details of terminology extraction and translation,to enable readers to build a comprehensive impression of the term base.The translation project was jointly completed by our translation team.Under the guidance of Professor Xu,we conducted a reasonable division of labor before the translation and completed the document conversion,pre-translation,extraction and translation of terms,and the establishment of a term base.All processes are based on computer and CAT tools.We took full use of the advantages of the tools,completed a series of operations of the term base within the specified time,and constantly updated and maintained the term base in the process of translation,achieving a satisfactory results.
