Translation of great literary works makes it possible for the people all over the world share the culture and civilization of mankind. Translation plays an important role in spreading mankind'wisdom and civilization in literature and culture to other countries. Establishing and perfecting a systematic and rational framework for literary translation criticism is a guarantee to evaluate the social values and culture value of literary target texts. It is obvious to see the necessity and significance to establishing an effective system of literary translation criticism for evaluating the results of translation. An effective literary translation criticism system can enrich literary translation theory and guide practical translation. The mode of multidimensional study on literary translation criticism provides a comprehensive and operational framework for translation criticism from the perspectives of culture and language.From macro perspective, translation criticism is the understanding and evaluation of translation, or the holistic evaluation of translators, the societies of the translators and the translated works. Translation is analyzed from its social nature, cultural nature, language change, creativity, historical nature and other macro aspects. These analyses and evaluations can lead to the full understanding of a translated work. From micro perspective, translation criticism refers to the evaluation of translation, translated works, including nature, process, technique, methods, use and influence of translation.Translation criticism is an important component of translation study. Translation criticism is not only a medium to bridge translation theory and practice, translation practice and social acceptability, but also an independent literary discipline. Translation criticism is of descriptive nature. Translation studies is composed of translation criticism, translation theory and translation history. So translation criticism is indispensable in translation studies. Translation criticism is the evaluation of target texts and translators.
