Media ethics is a subject which concerns systemic studies of problems such as how a good media should carry out its work, whether is the mass media as it should to be or not, how the employee understand morally good and bad, right and wrong associated with mass media during their work, and how do they make their choice. And it also concerns about the content which constitutes value and criterion in our real life, which are recognized as principle by individual, groups or those of a certain culture community consistently. Libertarianism of mass media emphasizes expression itself. It emphasizes the justice of expressing freely. Nature right, reason and democracy are the main value during the war against feudality. And it also points out the orientation for the rising bourgeoisie. Ever since 19th century, freedom of mass media has overrun swiftly and has become to be a social effects of pollution that seriously threatened public life. Then, in the middle of 19C, a theory of social responsibility was proposed, which is, in fact, the inverse of the theory of freedom of mass media. Nowadays, most people take it as an evolutive modality of traditional libertarianism. It characterizes by emphasizing that freedom of mass media is an entia of rights and obligation. The theory also acknowledges freedom as a right that can never be bereaved, but should be charged with social responsibility and obligation. The theory of social responsibility tries to radicate the significance of responsibility of the mass media. It's an amendment for freedom as corroboration as well. Theory of social responsibility criticizes and remedies the insufficiency of the theory of freedom just at the border of downfalling. It points out the sticking point why freedom of media encountered crisis, and also the orientation of development.Theoretically speaking, although, the mass media should possesses an important morally function. For the mass media can reflects the public opinion of morality, shape it, and then induct it. It's the same to say that the mass media can maintain social morality, impact it and then promote it to progress and develop. But in our real life, the mass media deviated from morality in so many aspects. Firstly, the phenomenon of news which is inconsistent with the facts is as severely as the phenomenon of taking authenticity as principle of unconditional. The news ignores humanistic concern and the responsibility of the significance of the truth. Secondly, infotainment dissimilates the function of entertainment, it magnifies the status of entertainment in the media, it also magnifies the elements of human feeling and character of interesting, etc. and then, it deviates the original intention of entertainment function.
