"Speech Act" in this dissertation is general in meaning, i.e. any utterance or writing is seen as a speech act in a particular context. In order to have a better connection with sociology, the term "act" is borrowed and the study is done from the perspective of speech acts, for sociology is a kind of subject in which social acts, including speech acts of course, are studied. "Sociological analysis" here contains two different meanings: (1) analyzing the speech acts of Chinese people by means of linguistics in combination with sociology; (2) studying certain characteristics of the speech act of Chinese people from sociological perspectives. The noumenon under discussion in the dissertation is language though the speech act of Chinese people is analyzed from the angles of both sociology and linguistics because speech is regarded as a sort of act of human beings.Linguistics consists of language resources and language usage, the latter of which can be divided into linguistics related to physical science and the one combined with other social scientific disciplines. The dissertation is an attempt of the combination of linguistics and sociology. The first step begins with the advance of linguistics, and the development of social linguistics. Then follows a brief introduction of the theory of "Speech Act" on the purpose of having the insight into the relevance between linguistics and sociology from the theoretical level. After that the study goes deep down to the particular speech acts of Chinese people, including the study on the Chinese society and culture from the perspective of the relevant speech acts of the Chinese people and the study on the characteristics of such speech acts the principle they follow from the notion of sociology. In addition to Cooperative Principle advanced by H.P. Grice and Politeness Principle by G.N. Leech, we, according to the Chinese reality, put forward Face Principle as Chinese people usually try to save faces in speech acts, Power Principle as Chinese people are apt to control or attack people by means of language, Impression-Controlling Principle as Chinese people usually try to leave a good impression on others by controlling their own speech acts, Gender Principle as Chinese people will display gender differences in phonetics, vocabulary and speech styles, Ethic Principle as Chinese people living in such an ethic country consistently pursue ethic requirements in speech, and Social Constructive Principle as Confucian sayings have played an significant role in the construction of the ancient Chinese societies, the construction of the speech acts of Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping and other top leaders, and the construction of the modern Chinese society. The characteristics of looking high on face, highlighting power, emphasizing impression, classifying genders, obeying ethics and being constructive are exploited in detail in the dissertation. These principles are connected with each other, constituting an impartible integration, an ens characteristic of the speech act of Chinese people in these six aspects. The subtlety of their relationships lies in certain continuity among them. Generally speaking, a person who has face has greater power; a person who pays attention to his / her own speech acts sometimes only attempts to meet the requirement of impression controlling; a person who tries to gain impression controlling needs to watch out the difference of the gender language; everyone whether you are a man or a woman should sticks to the ethic requirements. These belong to the View of Language as a Tool. In order to go beyond that, we have brought forward the View of Language as Construction as we know that the speech acts of important figures in China to some extent have constructed Chinese society. Six principles seem chained by a string constructing multi-insights into the speech act of Chinese people, i.e. all-round...
