The thesis deals with Tao Shi Xi Yi written by Huang wenhuan, I arrange my thesis from following aspects:First, The biography and works of Huang wenhuan.Huang wenhuan(1598-1667) was a poet, scholar and famous official in late Ming dynasty. He became an imperial scholar in the fifth year of Ming emperor Tian Qi. In the late era of emperor Chong Zhen's reign, he involved in the trouble of fellow provincial Huang daozhou and put into prison innocently. In the prison, he showed his just character and high moral principles, and at this time he finished Tao Shi Xi Yi which was divided into four volumes. When he got out of prison, he applied for return his hometown and then lived in Jinling, in the later, he was absorbed into Imperial Academy of South Ming dynasty as an editor and complier under the rule of emperor Hong Guang. When Qing dynasty established, he was recommended by a high official who named Hong chengchou, but the Qing ruler didn't employ him, so he was just an adherent of former dynasty. Huang wenhuan was a productive scholar who had left to us such works Shi Jing Kao (18 vols.), Chu Ci Ting Zhi (8 vols.), and Shi Jing Lang Huan (6 vols.) besides Tao Shi Xi Yi. These works spread in the late time and copied in Si Ku Quan Shu Cun Mu Series, the first two were printed again by Qi Lu Press in 1997. The Thesis gives a complete biography of Huang wenhuan by collecting and arranging the historical sources, and compiled a concise chronicle appended in the back.Second, The origin of master copy and the collation value of Tao Shi Xi Yi.Comparing with different editions, I can be sure that Tao Shi Xi Yi came from the edition of Song xiang , which was a valuable one. There was only one part of review points with little words in the main text of Tao Shi Xi Yi, so the contribution of this edition is not the collation value of it, but the unique revelations of Huang wenhuan.Third, The unprecedented achievements of Tao Shi Xi Yi.Huang wenhuan analyzed the specific passages and revealed that Tao Shi was never a dull one, but a good work with amazing words through the art of language, structure of passage, nature of expressing motion, art of naming the topic. He used the history background to examine poems which absorbed in Ni Gu, Shu Jiu, Zeng Yang Chang Shi, and so on, exploring the true sense hidden in the poems. On the basis of study of former scholars, he revealed the following: During the power alternate period, Tao Yuanming sympathized with Eastern Jin dynasty and resisted Song under the rule of Family Liu, so he didn't collaborate with the government of the latter and retired to idyllic life, but he still worried about the mass society; Huang wenhuan also found Tao Shi showed Tao Yuanming's ideas obvious, he regarded "Confucian philosophy as guiding principals", "Chong Hua and Zhong Ni as the models of the poor". Therefore, He got theunprecedented achievements in the revealing from three aspects-----artistic characters, historicalsense, and ideology height.Last, The successful reasons of analyzing Tao Shi Xi Yi by Huang. In this part, I explain the reasons from three angles: Huang's knowledge and practice as a poet, his misfortune and lot, and his Confucian mastery.
