As The History And Practice Of Contemporary Film Adaptation

This dissertation contemplates the Chinese contemporary movie adaptation based on the theoretical height and social, historical, cultural aspects. It not only studies the main characters of Chinese contemporary movie adaptation, but also analyzes some special movies which are adapted. It not only concerns about some prevalent phenomena of Chinese contemporary movie adaptation, but also presents some theoretical and practical subjects about movie adaptation.This dissertation will not understand the history and practice of movie adaptation isolatedly, but care for the date of the movie narrates and the date of the movie is narrated. This dissertation cares for the connections between the movie and the writings, and cares for the influence to the Chinese contemporary movie adaptation of special social, historical, cultural aspects, international background and other social currents.There are five chapters in this dissertation, the first chapter is preface ,introduces the pre-history of movie adaptation, and the previous study on movie adaptation, and presents this dissertation's starting point.The second chapter is about the movie adaptation of 1949—1976, focuses on the foundation of revolutionary word and classical narration, and the formation of the mainstream ideology.The third chapter study the movie adaptation of 1980's,focuses on three issues: the movie adaptation of the Chinese modern literature, the feeling standpoint to the city ,the new concept and the new condition about movie adaptation.The fourth chapter cares for the movie adaptation from 1990's to the current, stresses on the anxiety about modernity, the influence of the international and the post-modernity to the Chinese contemporary movie adaptation.The fifth chapter study the Chinese contemporary movie adaptation generally, included the thesis establishment, the adaptation of the plays, and the narrative study about Chinese contemporary movie adaptation.This dissertation is unintentional to found the history of Chinese contemporary movie adaptation, and the dissertation doesn't want to summary the Chinese contemporary movie adaptation theoretically. On the other hand ,this dissertation want to be a skeletal history of Chinese contemporary movie, the skeletal history between the Chinese contemporary movie and the era , the society, the mainstream ideology, and the international background.
