In a sense, architectural history is the history about politics, economy, society, religion, science, ecology, art and culture;it is the epitome of the world history.A History of Architecture in 100 Buildings, written by the architectural historian Dan Cruickshank, introduces the history of world architectures through 100 landmarks around the world. The parts translated in the practice report were selected from the book. The source text in this report belongs to information-type texts, which have the characteristics of information, long and complex structure of sentences and text, rich cultural metaphors. These characteristics lead to the lack or unnecessary translation caused by insufficient context analysis, the rigid translation caused by sentence structure of source text, the mistranslation or misunderstanding caused by unconnected metaphors. In view of the above three types of problems, this paper takes the dynamics of adaptability as the core, and adopts three analytical dimensions, such as contextual correlates adaptability, structural object of adaptability and salience of adaptability. The paper also adopts explicitness and implicitness,"Plastic Surgery" and "Cosmetic Surgery" reconstruction, complementary translation and liberal translation,as well as other text reconstruction strategies to solve these three problems.Through the translation cases, this paper confirms the effectiveness of Adaptation Theory on text reconstruction, improves the quality of translation, and accumulates actual material for the reconstruction under the Adaptation Theory.
