Song Dynasty Yue System

The highly prosperous musical literature in Song Dynasty was closley associated with its developed musical culture and perfect official conserratory system. This study aims at builting a solid foundation for the late reseach on musicul literature Song Dynasty throug complete investigation to official conservation.Currently there are not enough concerns to officil consevatory system and less direct achievement on this issue in acadmic cirle. As to these limited relavent achievements, much research to the officil conservatory remains at the general stage which some important issues are clear, and many viewpoints are to be corrected.According to the function and top-bottom relationship, the officil conservatory organization in Song Dynasty can be divided into imperial music office, the Taichangsi as well as Taiyue Dept and Dream Beating & instrument Play Dept, Da Sheng Fu, Jun Rong Zhi, Yun Shao Department and Xian Shao Yuan. The structure of the reaseach follows the organization of officil conservation naturally.This thesis firstly introduces the histry and change of offcil conservatory organization, descrbes in detail the whole process from in establishments to the developments and analyze the ralevent phenomenon arose in the process. One of the conclusions is the Imperial music office was founded at the beginning of Noth Song Dynasty, fully developed in the two Emperors Zhen Zong and Ren Zong, this prosperity continued to the extinction of North Song Dynasty. By the time of South Song Dynasty, the Imperial music office began to enter the stage of declination until to its disppear at the end of Shao Xing. The declination of the Imperial music office and the arising of Jiao Yue Suo are both natural results of the folk music. The latter was the remain and the substitute of the Imperial music office. Under the effect and the hit of newly arising of folk music ,the system of the imperial music office changed dramticlly.The elegant music was emphasized in Song Dynasty ,which the best example was the popularity of music discussion several times. It was begun from Emperor Tai Zu to its properity in Chong ning Year Four. During this period ,restoring the ancient style in the music form dominated which was expressed in the pursuit of ancient conservatory system.The knowledge to the job description and specification of the musical officials is the important aspect to study operating mechanism of official conservatory in Song Dynasty. This study investigated thoroughlly the official positions of different departments in the official conservatory system and corrected some mistakes made by the predecessors on this issue.This reserch alto reviewed the music managed by the official conservatory organizations in Song Dynasty. The work was done on the basis of the musical classification and the use of the msic and the other relavent aspects. Music registry system plays an important role in the study on official conservatory system in Song Dynasty. This dissertation discussed the development,the change to this system from the different perspectives and corrected some academic viewpoints.Finally this research discussed , summerized the relationship beween official conservatory system and musical literature in Song Dynasty on the basis of the full description of the official conservatory system.
