The study includes three main parts covering assessment of self-acceptance and acceptance of others, using dance/movement as medium in psychological intervention for college students, and analyzing its causes and expressions and further reveals its effect on self-acceptance, acceptance of others, mental health and subjective well-being (SWB) by a qualitative research.The first research validates the applicability of Self-acceptance Questionnaire (SAQ) and Acceptance of Others (AO) to Chinese students in normal university, then by revision comes up with an inventory that is applicable to them, and investigates the common characteristics of Chinese students in normal university. The results show that: the correlation of 'self-concept, self-acceptance, acceptance of others' with 'SCL-90' are negative (r = -0.71~-0.48), while with 'SWB' are positive (r = 0.42~0.59).In the second research the subjects (n = 174) were in three groups: group A (dance therapy intervention), group B (dance sport training) and group C (no intervention). After 12 weeks, the findings of the research can be summarized as follows:1. Dance therapy intervention improves the self-concept of group A (A>B>C).2. Dance therapy intervention improves the self-acceptance of group A. (A=B>C).3. Dance therapy intervention improves the acceptance of others. (A>B>C).4. Dance therapy intervention reduces the social anxiety of group (B0.05).5. Dance therapy intervention reduces the score of SCL-90 of group A (AB>C ) .In the third research, the qualitative research is a complement to and verification of the previous two quantitative ones. To sum up, dance therapy intervention upgrades the mental health and SWB of the college students.
