Life and death is the kernel of the theory of Taoism. Furthermore, all of religious activities evolve from Life and death in Taoism. According to this point the research on the view of Life and death in Taoism would help us grasp Taoism whose system is complex , understand the essence of the variety of Taoism ritual and research on relative issue. This paper include three parts which are creation of life, this life and beyond death . And the part of this life in Taoism is the emphases of the paper.QingXitai , a famous expert on Taoism , has given the point that the origin of thought and method of Taoism is complicated. Cultivate oneself according to a religious doctrine is the key to Taoism whose origin is partly from the theory of Tao, ancient religion , the ideology of supernatural beings and the theory of HuangLao. Taoism has also drawn on the thought of Mo, Yinyang and Confucianism. In view of the complicated origin of Taoism, this paper review and compare the different view of Life and death in the traditional Chinese culture with that of Taoism in order to incarnate the identity of the Taoistic view of life and death..This paper include six chapters as follows: the first chapter, Taoist view of origin and creation of life, which discusses origin and creation of life in two ways; the second chapter, harmonious life of Taoism, which explains harmonious life of Taoism from different aspects such as human beings and nature, people and society, body and mind of oneself, human and spirit, and so on; the third chapter, Taoist two-tiers way of life of abstinency and enjoyment, which point out that the ultimate objective of Taoist self-torture is external enjoyment; the fourth chapter, the relationship of Taoist language and the real life, which emphasizes that in Taoism view, the language has important signification for the real life; the fifth chapter, the Taoist thought, practice and theory of going after external of life, which discusses the signification of Taoist self-torture for external life; the sixth chapter, the Taoist thought, practice and theory of exceeding death, which tries to illuminate how Taoist exceeds death.
