Taking film and television as its carrier, following aesthetical discipline and art criterion, Film and TV art gained great expressive force and impressive power with its Sound-Image and Time-Space expression forms and narrative techniques; therefore, we may say that film and TV possess artistic attributes. At the same time, film and TV are also mass media and the important part of social cultural information structure, so that they possess communicational attributes. Communication is the activity that human subjects exchange information with each other, and information is the entia of sign and meaning. Sign is the exterior form of information, while meaning is the spiritual content. Communication is the process of constructing, communicating and creating meaning. Meaning is the starting and ending point of communication, and finally it will be created in audience's reading and decoding activities. After all, the process of film and TV art communication is the process of constructing and creating meaning.Film and TV art's aesthetic taste is not independent of its attribute of communicating meaning. These two attributes depend on each other and intercross with each other. The communicator of Film and TV Art Communication communicates his/her own comprehension of life to the audience with the art production. The production carries his/her ideas, feelings, aesthetic tastes and value concepts. Aesthetic requirement and feeling activation is the basic characteristics of Film and TV Art production. Film and TV Art Communication acts on people's sense organs, excites their feelings, activates their aesthetic requirements, arouses the resonance, and furthermore, make them achieve rational cognition, as leads to the fusion of creating subject and accepting subject's horizons and makes them create meaning together. Therefore, exciting feelings and aesthetic enjoyment are the necessary roads of meaning's construction and communication, and meaning is the rational end of art. Film and TV media are the carriers and exciters of "meaning and pleasure", and the creation and communication of "meaning and pleasure" constitutes culture. Film and TV Culture is a kind of media culture, and it is the social motivity which maintains the social structure. So film and TV art possesses the form which can excite pleasure, and its aim is to construct and communicate meaning with pleasant and aesthetic forms. That is, film and TV art media is the efficient form of communicating meaning, and its essential function is to construct and communicate meaning through aesthetic way and make people understand and interpret the world's nature artistically.However, at the present time, the study on the art attribute, on the whole, is independent of the communicational attribute, and each of them has its own theoretical category. Few people combine the Film and TV Theory with Communication Study. If there are some, most of them regard the Film and TV Art as the object of communication and study the better way to communicate the Film and TV Art itself. This kind of study is still respectively restricted in the Film and TV field or Communication field. It is the exterior combination and interaction of these two disciplines.Taking a new angle of view, this dissertation strives to combine Film and TV's art attribute and its communicational attribute together and study the intersection of these two parts, that is the communication character of Film and TV art, thus we can study how film and TV art constructs and communicates meaning with taking itself as a tool of communication.Centering on constructing Film and TV Art Communication, taking Constructing-Meaning and Creating-Meaning as the main clue, discussing the "System Theory", "Cybernetics Theory", "Medium Theory", "Acceptance Theory" and "Value Theory" of Film and TV Art Communication, the dissertation interprets the unique communicational form and effect, develops the new field and particular advantage of meaning construction, communication and generation, and expands and enriches the vision and content of Communication Study with the expectation that applies the fruit of Communication Study to Film and TV Art, explores the law of Film and TV Art Communication in the realistic context which has pluralistic cognition concepts, so as to construct and communicate "Meaning and Pleasure" more scientifically and efficiently, and realizes the integrated and culminating value of Film and TV Art Communication. Furthermore, the dissertation integrates the existing Communication theory and Film and TV Art theory with many inboard and outboard learning disciplines, contrasting them as well as comparing them, so that it could interpret Film and TV Art' laws of constructing and creating meaning with Communication theory. Constructing Film and TV Art Communication theory, validating Communication theory with Film and TV Art theory, enriching their theoretical fruit, integrating current film and TV production practice, the dissertation will also analyzes some film and TV production tendencies theoretically so as to realize theory's practical values.
