Mei Dingzuo,a famous poet, playwright and editor in the Ming Dynasty, had great contribution to the Ming literature and drama, for his literature, literary criticism and academic compilation were closely connected with the middle and late Ming literary criticism. However, because of the influence from "Giving priority to vulgarity instead of elegance",the truth and value of Mei Dingzuo's literary activities were sheltered and brought to the edge. Chapter two firstly highlights the feature of the selected edition of Tang'er Poems, then conducts an overview on Mei Dingzuo's characteristic and success in contributing to "note","comment" and "identification".Finally, chapter three explores the feature of "Style-discriminating criticism" in the book.In the fourth section,Study on Mei Dingzuo's Novel Compilation,Drama Communication, and Drama Criticism and Acceptance, four chapters are included.Chapter one makes a comprehensive study on "Edition Research", "Text Generation" and "Multiple Comparison" according to the novel collection,CaiGui Ji(《才鬼记》).Chapter two, based on the novel collection,Qingni Lianhua Ji(《青泥莲花记》),sheds light on some special phenomena in the novel via studying the feature of "ethical description". Chapter three expounds Mei Dingzuo's drama communication, drama criticism and critiques on YuHe Ji(《玉合记》) in the Ming Dynasty and so on. Chapter four conducts an overall review on Ming's critical literatures on the drama KunYu Nu(《昆仑奴》),through which the cultural psychology in acceptance of the drama in the Ming Dynasty and the origin of the drama is uncovered. In the Conclusion,by studying his life experience, this part explores Mei Yujin's inner motivation in creation, criticism and compilation. The two points are indispensable in explaining it,that is,the independence of his ideas after keeping away from the political power and the necessity to make a living.
