Literary Criticism In The Contemporary Cultural Context

Although the practices and theories of the Literary Criticism have been existing from the ancient times, the research on it and close attentions to it are the thing that begin in 1980s.We have known that the methods and practices of the Literary Criticism have been laid particular emphasis on in 1980s,and known that the academic summarizing or generalizing of the practices of the Literary Criticism have been emphasized in 1990s.The prosperous practices of the literary criticism and the academic summarizing or generalizing of them have laid deep foundation for the setting up the Subject of the Literary Criticism. The slogan of founding the Subject has been put forwards for teen years, but this task has not been done systematically. Certainly, there are many reasons, Perhaps one of the most important reason is that we are lack of the systematical knowledge of the Critical Noumenon.As a result, In this thesis, the Noumenon of Literary Criticism is studied for setting up the Subject of Literary Criticism. Besides I place the Critical Noumenon on the wide background of social culture. Thus, the research of the Critical Noumenon can not be cut off from the reality of social culture, and the Critical Noumenon can not be the abstract concept. On the basis of this premise, the treatise mainly demonstrates by the following respects:Firstly, this thesis demonstrates the connotation of the Critical Noumenon. To do that, it proves the thing-in-itself of the Literary Criticism from four respects. These four respects are respectively the Root, the Function, the Relation , the Nature.Secondly, I underlined the necessities of studying the Noumenon of Literary Criticism by the phenomena of the Alienation of contemporary critical practice. These show the shape of illusory criticism's alienation; the displaying of fry criticism; the flattering criticism, etc.Thirdly, nowadays, the standpoints of the Critical Noumenon Criticism is Interchanging, namely, Interchanging is the thing-in-itself ofthe Literary Criticism. "The thing that one has criticized is oneself (one's own)", "Ego" possesses the sense of Noumenon. "Negative" has ontological sense of the Literary Criticism.Fourthly, writer proposes the theory of the criticism's Life Noumenon. This viewpoint is proved by two aspects on which are severally the historical happening and logical happening. The integrating of congenital and postnatal is historical basis.fifthly, literary Criticism has the functions of evaluating. Assessing , judging , appraising and founding. These functions are mainly in the view of the literature realm. And literary criticism has been playing an important role on man's spiritual activities from three ways, that is, the guarding on the cultural convention; the watching on the character of appreciation of the beauty; and the literary criticism as a type of discourse.Sixthly, discussion about three groups of relationships of Literary Criticism, which are the mutual relationships among the critics , the writers and the readers ;the interdependent and relatively independent relationships among the literary writing, literary criticism and literary theory; the relationships between literary criticism and the history of literature.Seventhly, in this thesis, critical qualities have been demonstrated from three respects. They are the Cultural Quality , Criticizing Quality and the Quality of Humanity.All in all, these seven respects that have been discussed above can be seemed as the progress of studying the critical Noumenon in this thesis. Incidentally, the seven respects are the treatise's main contents.
